Now we are tied for second place in the ACC. FSU has the tougher schedule, so chances are that we could take second all by ourselves. We absolutely cannot lose one of the next seven games. They are all RPI killers as it is. Losing one is suicidal. We really, really need Louisville to take it to FSU in two weeks to take the luster off the Seminoles. Then we need to take the GT series at home. And then we have to act as though the ACCT games mean something.

They say baseball is a game of inches well a few inches the other night ball doesn't get stuck in the fence Miami wins 2 of 3.

Wonder if we'll get that gap under the fence fixed. That cost us a ballgame...and maybe even a sweep. I think had we won Friday, Saturday's game could have been different.

We will host a regional, will not be a national seed.

If we win out and make some noise in the ACCT, we'll be a lock for a national seed imho. We still have the #3 RPI as of today.
I would agree...but with our record against the Top 50 being 7-10 as of today, we'll be a case study in how much weight the RPI is given for postseason seeding. If we somehow win out, then that Top 50 record will kick back over .500, but still...

Just to put it in perspective, we have 10 losses against the top 50. No team in the TOP 18 of RPI has as many losses to the Top 50. UCLA is 12-7 against the Top 50, Texas A&M is 13-5, LSU is 18-6, F$U is 11-6, UF is 9-8, Louisville is 13-4.

If we were more in the range of where UCLA/TAMU/Louisville/LSU are at this point--we would indeed be a "lock" for a national seed. We may somehow end up in the same neighborhood with good showings down the stretch as F$U, possibly UF. That does not make us a "lock".

The reality, though, is that "Record against top 50" isn't mentioned in the criteria. The manual refers to record vs 1-25, 26-50, etc. And that may actually work in our favor because 14 of those 17 games are actually against the Top 25. We are tied for the national lead in number of games played against that group, and only Ole Miss has more wins against the Top 25. The teams you mentioned have more games in the 26-50 group. LSU, for example, is 13-4 against 26-50.

we can beat these teams, the florida series, louisville, FSU all of them had one game decided by one play gotta stop with all that and win

Haven't come close to winning a series against a good team this year.

When GT wins 2 or most likely 3 against us, then all this talk is worth doodley squat.

They put us in the UF super regional track when they KNOW we have zero chance of advancing.

1 and 2 and BBQ in our own stadium, just like last year.

BTW, we are so distant in reality in the ACC, its not even funny. UL and Free Shoes have TEN times better programs than us. (they easilly beat us every year, for example)

I don't totally disagree with your overall premise, but isn't this totally wrong? "Haven't come close to winning a series" would imply we've been swept, when we actually have taken 1 of 3 in all of our toughest series, and actually been a play or two away from winning those series.

This is when your trolling becomes obvious. We have a one run loss in all four of those series. We are literally a couple of breaks away from being #1 in the RPI and a lock for a national seed.

I know I for one immediately think Louisville when the great programs of college baseball are discussed.
