UF football player J.C. Jackson arrested in connection with armed robbery
Florida Gators redshirt freshman cornerback J.C. Jackson was arrested Saturday in connection with an armed robbery and is being held in Alachua County Jail on a $150,000 bond.

According to Gainesville Police, Jackson entered the apartment of an acquaintance with two other men a little before 4 p.m. Saturday. Jackson then quickly left, the report stated, while the two other men pulled out a handgun and pointed it at the resident and two visitors.

The two male suspects made the victims get on the floor and removed their pockets. One of the suspects pressed a gun to the face of one of the victim's while demanding to know where he kept his marijuana and money.

The suspects left with $382, marijuana and two video gaming consoles, the report states, and were seen leaving in a red "Nissan” type car.

The reports states that Jackson, 19, called the apartment owner to see if he wanted to hang out and smoke marijuana. The victim identified Jackson, who later would turn himself into Alachua County Sherriff's Office to face first-degree felony charges.

He currently is being held in Alachua County Jail.

"We are aware of the news involving JC Jackson and he is currently dealing with a serious issue," Gators coach Jim McElwain said in a statement released by UF. "We don't condone any of his actions and it is not something that reflects on the expectations we have in the program. It is being handled accordingly due to the severity of his actions."

A native of Immokalee, Jackson lined up with the Gators' first-team defense during spring practices and is expected to be one of the team's rising stars.

This is not Jackson's first brush with trouble at UF.

Last Christmas Eve in Immokalee, Jackson was grazed on the eyelid by a bullet during a shooting. Jackson and two friends were in a car when someone in a passing vehicle fired a shot into the vehicle.

Also in December, Jackson, cornerback Jalen Tabor and quarterback Treon Harris were was stopped for speeding on campus. UF Police Department officers reported smelling marijuana and finding two small bags of it a storage pocket of the vehicle.

No charges were filed since none of the players was in possession of marijuana and the car did not belong to any of the three Gators.

Now this is some unreal stuff going on with Young Mr. Valentine.

LSU coach Les Miles: Defensive tackle Travonte Valentine 'currently suspended'

LSU coach Les Miles said after Saturday's spring game that freshman defensive tackle Travonte Valentine is suspended and his future with the team is in doubt.

Valentine, a freshman from Miami, did not practice with the team throughout the spring drills.

He joined the team for practice in the fall after his academic transcript was approved by the NCAA Clearinghouse, but he was not allowed to compete when the SEC held up his eligibility while reviewing his records.

"Travonte Valentine is currently suspended from play," Miles said in his press conference after the spring game. "We've instructed him to go to this school, go to class, take care your business. If he does that and handles behavior then there will be a future for him here. Otherwise, we're not certain."

Valentine was rated the No. 2 defensive tackle in the nation by Scout.com, No. 5 by rivals and No. 11 by ESPN. He had 31 tackles for loss and 16 sacks as a senior at Champagnat Catholic High School to lead his team to the Class 2A state title.

What exactly does "We've instructed him to go to this school, go to class, take care your business." mean if he is supposedly enrolled at LSU? Has LSU kicked him already an he is supposed to go to JUCO? If so go ahead an head to JUCO young man then come on home to Miami an let "Uncle" Hurlie Brown mentor and guide you while playing for the U.

Crazy, the 3 biggest prospects i felt we "missed on" during that 2014 class was JC Jackson (Legal Troubles) , Valentine(Academic Troubles), and Bo Scarborough (Injuries) you just never know.

Once again proving that some kids just need to get out of Miami to avoid getting in trouble. This city is a cesspool and will ruin young lives.

No, no, don't want the leader to be upset and cry foul to NCAA gumshoes. Just means Uncle Les is owed one or is cut a better deal on the next one.

If TV leaves does the leader of men have to give the money back?

LMAO now that is funny right there. But a very valid question, but I think it falls under "Caveat Emptor" all deals are final.

Please. We've missed out on dozens of South Florida prospects since Golden's been here. Dade County High School coaches think he's a clown.

This guy probably hasn't seen the area of Baton Rouge. If you take a visit to those two schools, you know automatically which one has the better economy.

What? These kids leave south florida and continue to find trouble. These schools like uf breed a culture of being able to do what you want if you play football.
