So what are things looking like? We lose a lot of talent but should have the pitching to still make a regional.

Losing Collins, Lopez, abreu, woodrey. Uhhhh Bryan Garcia gone. Still no dominant starters next year. So idk man. Probably take a step down

We at least have the JUCO's to lean on...Don't sleep on Evan Mckendry boys, he can pitch

We need at least one weekend starting pitcher,2 relievers that can throw strikes, and at least 1 gorilla like that TCU freshman that can smash a baseball. Then it's back to Omaha!

Mediavilla
Lepore
Cabazes
Sosa

Should be your weekend and midweek starters.

Meyer
Hammond
Bartow

Should be main relievers

Without knowing about signings:

Chester
Batista
Ruiz
Heyward
Michaelangi
Barr
Romy

Lineup guys

Obviously some newcomers will pitch and could start in lineup too.

A lot is up in the air right now for the 2017 team. We could have a roster that is a lock for a National Seed, or we could end up just as a 2 or 3 in a Regional.

Players uncertain due to draft or injury: Heyward, Ruiz, Rios (Juco), Sosa, Hammond

Back: Barr, Michelangli, Batista, Chester, Gonzalez, Crocitto, Gomez, Cabezas, Bartow, Meyer, Mediavilla, Pimentel.

JUCO incoming: Davison, Tackett, Cooley. These aren't your typical juco kids. All 3 have been drafted before and expect to start next year.

Freshmen incoming: Veliz, Mckendry, Baldor, Casey, Khawley, Studsill, Amditis, and a couple more. Veliz, Studsill, and Amditis are the stars. Amditis is the best pure catching prospect we've had since Grandal. Studsill is a future ace. Veliz can throw up to 97 and will provide a much needed power arm.

It is nice to see an intelligent discussion about the team instead some of the utter garbage you can see on here.

Is there a place to find the position of the new players listed, especially the Juco ones? thanks

For the freshmen, just look them up on Perfect Game. Obviously many of these kids can play multiple positions. Both Studstill and Veliz, for example, also play IF, but I'm guessing they will pitch here.

For the JUCOs:
-Rios: LHP (a lefty bullpen arm!). Would be huge if he ends up on campus
-Davison: OF (will make Chester look slow. Stole almost 40 bases this past year)
-Tackett OF (but could get a look elsewhere based on need (perhaps 2B). Very good all-around player, the coaches will find a way to get him in the lineup)
-Cooley: OF (but likely to DH, power hitter)

I'll probably put together an advanced analytics recap for the season and a look ahead. Some interesting findings thus far.

As far as Perfect Game goes, they are so limited in their views and many of their reports are at least a year or more old. Very meh in my view. Plus, they tend to give a bump to most elite school prospects like Miami and if they rate them, almost always rate them as a 10, which provides little clarity on the variance on prospects.

Besides, Jake Burger was a 7.5 on there (not DI material) and was a legitimate All-American his freshman year (not freshman AA, 3rd team overall AA). His sophomore year he was a 1st team AA and Golden Spikes semi-finalist.
