2014 DT Khairi Clark (Chaminade-Madonna) is one of the top players in South Florida for his class. The 6’3”, 315-pound lineman spoke about his team’s season.

“It was a good season, but we lost to American Heritage Delray in the first round of the playoffs. Overall, I felt I had a good season and did my job.”

What makes Clark such a special prospect?

“My strength, speed, size, technique, and eyes are my biggest strengths. I’m looking to work on my endurance.”

Holding offers from nearly every big-time program in the country, Clark is still staying neutral with the recruiting process.

“I’m just trying to stay open-minded right now because I have a lot of offers and I want to see what everybody is about.”

The star junior said that Miami, Maryland, LSU, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Clemson, Wisconsin, Nebraska are sticking out right now. He expanded on the hometown Miami Hurricanes.

“I grew up loving Miami because of the way they play their game. It’s just an overall hype school. I absolutely grew up rooting for them. I can’t really say who my favorite player was because I just enjoyed watching everybody play.”

Academics will be one of the main factors in his decision.

“I’m looking for a school that’s always together and works hard without complaining. I want to go somewhere that the players are close to the coaches and very good in the classroom as far as a school that has a lot of student-athlete graduates.”

While ‘Canes fans might be hoping that Clark’s family wants him to stay close to home, he says that isn’t exactly the case.

“My mom would like for me to go away for school, but I have no idea why. She said it teaches you to be more independent.”

What are his plans for the offseason?

“I plan to lift, get faster, stronger, and overall become a better player. Hopefully I can take a lot of visits to a lot of schools and maybe some camps.”

Miami has to be the only place on the mother ******* planet where mothers actively try to send their kids far away. Guys like Jack Daniels and Collins' coach are around pimping other schools left and right. Media takes shots at every opportunity. Ya'll some self-loathing mother ****ers.

Mind-boggling, isn't it?

I don't buy the small, private school in a major city thing, either. USC mostly gets what they want.

I wouldn't blame any DL for not wanting to come here. We had 13 **** sacks man! we had 4 games with ZERO sacks. at bc, at nd, home vs unc, and home vs usf.

Facts

4 other games 1 sack or less at ksu, at gt, home vs Virginia Tech, and at Duke

That reeks! No other way to say it.

If his mom wants him to be independent, let him go to Miami and then just leave him alone for a while.

Wouldn´t that be a reason to come here? Playing time much?
