Owensboro Apollo High School junior offensive lineman Hunter Bivin was surprised when Miami, Fla., offensive line coach Art Kehoe showed up at his school on Tuesday.
The 6-foot-6, 295-pound Bivin was even more surprised with the news Kehoe had to tell him. After watching tape of Bivin playing basketball, Kehoe extended a scholarship offer to Bivin, one of the state’s top Class of 2013 prospects.
“I had no idea,†Bivin said. “They had been sending me stuff and we had talked through facebook from time to time, but I was surprised.â€
Bivin now has offers from Miami, Kentucky and Vanderbilt. He said other schools showing the most interest are Notre Dame, Ohio State, Michigan and Auburn.
