Yes they are. Buffalo Trace has really ramped up production. They bought a farm right behind the distillery and have built at 4 or 5 new warehouses that i can i see...maybe more. It will be interesting to see how the supply of the Weller and younger Pappy bourbons are in a few years. The retail...

Almost impossible to find Weller around here also. Once everyone found out Weller and Pappy were the same mashbill Weller became very hard to get...and expensive. lol. Before the bourbon "boom" i could buy Weller 12 for around 25.00 a bottle and could get it almost any day. Same for Old Rip Van...

I like Michters! Had the Michters US1 and the 10 year. Michters is unique that they distill and barrel their bourbon at a much lower proof than most..a little over a 100 proof if i remember correctly.

Yes sir! Definitely a personal tastes thing. My sweet spot for most bourbons is 9-12 year old( anything older starts going the other way for me), 100 proof minimum and most importantly a low rye mashbill. Take **** Creek for example. Honestly im not a fan of most high rye bourbons. My favorite of all( including all of the Pappy bourbon) is Eagle Rare....which has less than 10% rye in the mashbill. If i was going to drink a high rye bourbon I'd go after Woodford Reserve.

Yes. Basil Hayden is a high rye bourbon. Basil is the same mashbill as Old Grand Dad just aged 8 years.

Most were before the bourbon hype and some of the older bottles are from trading newer bottles or from people that locate them for me. I work for Jim Beam in Frankfort and also know quite a few people that work for Buffalo Trace.
