But then you have the SFL divas claiming they "love" Miami and it's their "dream school", yet they use the excuse that they are concerned because Miami hasn't had a 1st rounder in the draft at their position. So if we can get some 2nd and 3rd tier recruits into the draft at all, it shows that...

..but of course, the NCAA didn't take him at his word that the SEC was doing so. They only took him at his word on the anti-UM things.

    Exactly.

If the local kids who pretend to love Miami would come here, we'd win more consistently.

Who have we had that would warrant a 1st or 2nd round draft position off the D-line? Willis possibly, but he fell for a variety of other reasons. If the players good enough to be drafted at that level come here, then we will have 1st and 2nd round draft picks off the dline. Who has UGA...

You can be the reason a team wins championships, especially the team you pretend to "love" and view as your "dream school", or you can go where you are guaranteed a high ranking and likely playoff shot because you are riding the coattails of those already there. Bottom line is, the excuse just...

It is pretty amazing how the rules and standards that the SFL recruits and families (who also then claim to love Miami) hold Miami to are so much different than what they hold every other program to.

We won't get 4-5 of those 5* type guys if they all chase bags and ride coattails. I'm not saying all national high level recruits should be expected to flock to us. They have no reason to. However, the local recruits who spout off about how they "love" Miami are the ones that are full of...

Any player that is good enough will get drafted at a high level from any major program. You say we need to put a great product on the field and get our guys to the league, but then the guys who would help us put a great product on the field and who can get drafted highest to the league all go...

But what relevance is there that we haven't have 1st rounders on the DL in 16 years? If Harris is good enough, he will be a first rounder. We haven't had 1st round talent on the DL. You can't whine about a school not having first rounders, when all of the potential first rounders who claim...

Straight up idiotic. Coming to Miami is not setting a kid up to fail. Just because you don't put your kid in a school already stacked with 1st rounders so he can ride their coattails doesn't set him up to fail. If the kid is good enough, he'll succeed.

"He wants his son on national TV, playing in big games, and to have a shot at being a first rounder. Not so hard to understand." ..and he can do every one of those things at Miami. The whole "first rounder" nonsense is just ridiculous. If you're good enough, you'll be a first rounder. When...

True, but when the ones that are "up to snuff" keep going to Bama, Clemson, Georgia, etc., that leaves Miami having no choice but to recruit second-level kids. As for no Miami DL being drafted in the first or second round, the reality is we haven't had the type of player worthy of being drafted...
