These are the 7 most likely to have a P2 spot. So this shouldn’t be a surprise https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/clemson-joins-florida-state-looking-to-exit-acc-as-latest-school-to-file-lawsuit-over-grant-of-rights/

So you agree it will be ESPN/Fox ultimately deciding this? Lol

There is a reason if they want to limit it to 48, which was the main condition I was working around to build the divisions.

You don't think it's possible? The same way a school like FSU gets out and into the P2 is the same way Fox gets out of having to pay a worthless Rutgers... Either it's about money or it isn't. I'm not gunna say to start with it couldn't be BIG+SEC. But I don't think thats the ultimate end...

Where do you see the BIG or SEC in my breakdown? It's just as likely this all ends with Fox/ESPN/NBC/etc all picking and choosing the specific programs they want.

My Attempt at a 48 Team P2. Each school can be given up to 2 Non-Division permanent opponents (so Miami could still play FSU and UF yearly, USC could play ND, Texas can play Oklahoma, etc). But each school must play at least 10 games against these 48. And you figure the schedule out from there...

They’re the same. The Reddit one just clearly shows where the ACC/b12 schools are ending up from the first Staples tweet.

I think it makes sense for both the Big10 and SEC to go for all of ND, FSU, Miami, and UNC regardless what happens and who chooses where. Those are the 5 biggest brands left (including Clemson, but imo thats really only SEC), and should all be pushed for asap. I fully agree its in the SECs best...

If BIG10 was smart, they'd shove all in to get Notre Dame, FSU, UNC, AND Miami. Each of the 4 should be irrelevant to the other, the Big10 should try to get as many as they can. If the SEC were smart they'd go all in for FSU and UNC.. From there they can choose whether they want any other NC/VA...

Yes this + Sec/B10 announcement seems like something’s happening sooner than later. Hopefully we are along for the sooner, rather than the later

I think if SEC would take NCSt, UNC would probably leave much sooner Like If SEC got UNC, Clemson, UVA, and NCSt and Big10 got FSU, Miami, VTech, and ND scheduling agreement. That'd be pretty good. But I think SEC probably only adds 2.

Points 4 and 5 are all we actually NEED to make it sense financially to leave asap, which also seem like the easiest to get

Blatantly wrong about "seeks to invalidate the conference's Grant of Rights, which would reduce the buyout for leaving the conference to ZERO" The GOR going to $0, would still mean a $130M exit fee for leaving the conference. Of course that could probably get settled to maybe like $90M. And the...

Wonder if it should be set up so that kids get a choice of which type of scholarship they receive that has its own Tranfer portal requirements. Like Coming out of HS, If a player chooses a 4 year scholarship, he has to sit a year if he transfers and he has more than 1 yr of eligibility. If a...

@TheOriginalCane Even better would ALSO be saying the GOR has a total value of $86M but a contractual length of 11 years if we exit for 2025 season. Therefore we pay $7.81M/yr. If you want a lump sum settlement we pay half. Lol I really see us getting out for $175M if we are aggressive. Or just...

I like their current strategy of you get like 3 protected games and the rest is a full on rotation. Makes it so we actually play everyone within like 4 years. But anyway if we do go divisions with 20 teams you likely have to do 4 divisions of 5 teams probably. That way you have 4 in division...

I agree. Like I said we can get out for $215M MAX today. If we can negotiate exit fee down I think as low as $175-$150M…

This is what I'm hoping is the minimal outcome - just that the GOR extension gets thrown out, so will only be enforceable until June 30th, 2027 (before the 2027 CFB season). Cost to leave then would be: - Exit Fee = 3* Distribution = $130M. - GOR = 2* Distribution (2025, 2026)= $87M. (The Grant...
