    Don Chaney 2020 (video)

Gross mismanagement might be too much, but no question it was mismanagement. Gus only got carries late in the year because halfway through the season Yearby had the audacity to say "hey Coach Richt, I know you're in love with Walton and all, but since I've outplayed him all last year and this...

The overhyping of Mark Walton is one of the weirder things I've ever seen as a Canes fan. The coaching staff had an unhealthy love for Walton, and most fans did too.

I see the similarities and agree with you - Chaney's numbers look the same as McGahee, and I agree both needed to gain some confidence after their Freshman years. I expect Chaney to make a leap next year, and we agree that it won't be a McGahee level leap. IMO where we differ is - on the...

I think making McGahee comparisons is way too much to expect out of Chaney. McGahee tore his ACL his Senior Year, and that was 20 years ago - so that contributed to his slow start. But McGahee was faster and bigger, around 225-230. I don't think Chaney has that size/speed/talent potential. I...

I think Chaney has a much higher ceiling than Pre-ACL Moss - but I can see the comparison. Funny thing, Moss was the first RB I used to get CRUSHED about for saying he was just a solid college RB - nothing special. Moss, Yearby, Walton, Harris - it's always the same argument. These guys are...

I'm not trying to undermine Chaney by making Lamar Miller comparisons, or doubt his speed at all. I know Chaney has speed. What I'm saying is: 1) Miller ran a 4.40 at the NFL combine. I don't think Chaney has that speed. But I think Chaney can probably carry 215-220 lbs, and if he could run...

I agree - and Miller has more speed than Chaney. I don't think Miller and Chaney are the same style wise - I'm talking talent level wise. Miller is the only Miami RB in the last 15 years that became an NFL starting RB. I think Chaney has that Day 2 pick, NFL starter potential.

This is an excellent take! Duke was sooo special from Day 1, and Chaney wasn't at that level this year. Hopefully he gets there. The plays at 1:39 - you could see Chaney giving himself up at the end of some of his runs. The defenders didn't have to do anything, he was falling down on his...

I agree with this take. Because Duke didn't become a 3 down RB in the NFL, it's skewed people's memory of just how dominant a RB he was in college. And that sucks. I'm a huge fan of Chaney - but IMO the RB comparisons in this thread for Chaney are too high. Chaney becoming a Lamar Miller...
