Storm Johnson? Edit: Oh Shawnbrey McNeil. Don’t remember him here.

I don’t think he is some world beating talent, but he is definitely better than his numbers so far. He would have helped us last year without a doubt. He has good yards per reception but few catches. His three qbs were 49%,41%, and 50% on the year. The leading receiver had 22 catches to...

Hard to judge Hightower. He jumped from the frying pan into the fire. Illinois has MUCH worse quarterback play than even we did. Those guys make Malik Rosier look like a good quarterback. They make Jarren look like Kyler Murray.

This. Especially the bolded. I was caping for our underperforming receivers all last offseason only Harley stepped up and fulfilled his potential. The amount of snaps they played in the bowl game was inexcusable. When guys struggle like that, you don’t just keep throwing them to the wolves...

He was annoying but the guillotine on his neck is pretty harsh.

By making expectations for the freshmen too high. Yeah Pope and Wiggins know the playbook inside out, but they came up small in too many big moments on game day. It pains me to write this because I caped HARD for Harley, Pope, and Wiggins last offseason. Only Harley stepped up. I don’t think...

. We saw some four wide last year. With his air raid schooling under Dykes and a full offseason, he will install more. I think King can handle it too, but with more trips. I wish we would mix up the pace instead of near 100% hurry up so we can switch between 10, 11, and 20 personnel in the...

Well I’ll be damned. Pope CAUGHT A PUNT, made a guy miss and stayed on his feet. MFs in **** ice skating and ****.

I see what you mean. Personally, I don’t want Pope starting anywhere. But I think back to Berrios. He never showed his track speed or elusiveness before 2017. He caught punts well, but never looked dynamic. We squandered him on the outside and he was a ghost. Most on here maligned him as a...

So I agree Harley is better playing inside. What does Poe lack other than toughness that makes you think he won’t play better inside as well?

Why can’t people get this? You can get better execution if you tailor your schemes to the exact skill sets of the players you have on deck.

If we let our strong dbs beat up on receivers on the line, it won’t matter. Michael Jackson did lots of great work for us and he is a big straight line guy that is a bit stiff laterally.

I know, that’s why I hope Harley can hit another level. He ain’t Steve Smith but if we can get 800+ from him out there and he can use his speed to get open deep, it can help us big time.

Harley and Pope are both slots. That’s the problem. Hopefully the fire that was lit under Harley allows him to overachieve and excel on the outside. We haven’t had many reliable big receivers outside Richards and Hurns for a while now.
