I mean each to their own - I'd recommend persevering, but there's certainly brilliant games that I don't like too. Apparently the Final Fantasy series is amazing, but I'll never play it. It's not my bag, baby. Different strokes for different folks.

Spider-Man is great fun - highly recommend. If I see Spider-Man: Miles Morales on a deal somewhere I'll pick it up - was kinda waiting to get a PS5 before playing that.

I used to dislike the two-tone shell, but since buying a two-tone (white and black) BMW i3S I've grown to love it. I was half waiting for Sony to release it with black side plates too.

I've got a decent PC capable of playing my strategy / cRPG games - anything more demanding than that I wait to play on the console.

Thanks for the reply. I couldn't justify dropping £500 on something that is just going to sit there. Especially considering the shortages of PS5s. Once games that I'm interested in come out that are purpose built for the next gen consoles I'll consider it.

So for those of you with a next gen console - do you regret the purchase? I haven't seen any worthwhile next gen games come out. I know there's always a lag between generations, but I can't see myself being in any rush to get a PS5 (I'm a Sony fan boy) with the lack of games to play on it.

RDR is the only game that has made me cry. RDR2 made me come close.

No interest in buying one straight out of the box - always takes a while for developers to catch up to the new tech. As for recently played games: Days Gone, which is now a PS4 classic for me. Highly recommended.
