Official Emory Williams - 2023 QB COMMIT

Either that or more likely, the stars are waiting to see how the NIL packages work out. Currently, the run is on QBs because they commit early. Once that plays out, I suspect next up will be DL, OT, CBs. It's smart to tie up evaluation guys early because once the stars are scooped up, there...

Official Emory Williams - 2023 QB COMMIT

His initial ranking was only last month after Miami and Pitt showed interest. It's as if the 247-brain trust did a collective "OOPs". The 8.5 is just a safe placeholder until they can observe him. Who knows where he will end up? Now that he's got everyone's attention, it's up to him to do...

Official Emory Williams - 2023 QB COMMIT

Listen kid, do yourself a favor and: 1. Pause and curb your instinct to post on impulse 2. Take a break and go to the bathroom and relieve yourself 3. Once composed, reread any posts you’ve thought of before hitting post reply. Try to convince yourself it’s not as dumb as it’s coming across...

Official Emory Williams - 2023 QB COMMIT

Any competent individual understands it in aggregate, but a competent individual does not automatically extend it to blindly pass judgement on an individual level. They need evidence like game film, see them live, camps, etc. to make their own evaluation. Coker recruited from lists. How did...

Official Emory Williams - 2023 QB COMMIT

Maybe they feel they have a closer relationship with Rashada and Rashada is closer to making a decision while Moore may extend things out into the season. If both are closely rated 5 stars maybe they're happy to get whichever one commits first. If they wait until the season and Moore goes...

Official Emory Williams - 2023 QB COMMIT

I'm not changing anything. I came on responding to the following, specifically the underlined. After winning a Heisman, it's easy to call him a stud transfer. Coming out of high school Joe Burrow was a higher end of the 4 star rating (Joe Burrow - 247). He played behind JT Barrett. After a...

Official Emory Williams - 2023 QB COMMIT

Maybe not yet. @LeedsCane suggested he might become available. If he's got anything to his game, I can't believe he's happy being behind Stetson Bennett.

Then Kirby's an anomaly. There's a reason he's trashed every time he's brought up around here.

Official Emory Williams - 2023 QB COMMIT

I thought we were talking about the term "stud transfer". Now if we were talking about Caleb Williams that had a on-the-field history, I would agree.

Official Emory Williams - 2023 QB COMMIT

I guess we have a different way of viewing things. I already stated he was a 4 star. The way I cut it, that's no guarantee of stardom and it's certainly not an indication that he'd win a national championship and Heisman in historic fashion.

Official Emory Williams - 2023 QB COMMIT

It's not like they didn't try. They ran off Justin Fields. They recruited Carson Beck, Brock Vandergriff. Sometimes evaluations fail, development doesn't happen. Then they're stuck playing with the cards they were dealt.

Official Emory Williams - 2023 QB COMMIT

Yes, he was considered a good guy but after 3 years at OSU, he was passed up by a younger Dwayne Haskins who was considered the stud QB. That's why he hit the portal in the first place. LSU fans hyped him because that's what fans do. What're they going to say, "Oh crap, we just brought in a...

Official Emory Williams - 2023 QB COMMIT

Yep. There a different mind set with 5 stars. Depth charts don't scare them off. They believe they're better than anyone. On the old grassy board, I remember a quote from Devin Hester when FSU was using Miami's depth chart against us. "If you don't think I'm good enough, why are you...

Official Emory Williams - 2023 QB COMMIT

He may have been a 4 star coming out of high school, but Joe Burrow wasn't considered a stud transfer when he left OSU for LSU. We were favored when he opened against us. No one anticipated he would do what he did.

Official Emory Williams - 2023 QB COMMIT

That's a possibility and another reason to get two this year (if they are the right ones). However, it's unusual for someone to leave with eligibility remaining after only one year of starting. I also don't think Rashada is afraid of competition. He strikes me as impatient. I don't think he...

Official Emory Williams - 2023 QB COMMIT

Once the season starts, the roster is set. They usually have no other choice. You don't think they'd love to have a game changing QB if they could get one.

Official Emory Williams - 2023 QB COMMIT

... or they think the game has changed with the portal and NIL. Assuming that Garcia is the starter after Van Dyke leaves, a highly capable QB may not want to remain as a backup until Garcia leaves. They may be hedging their bets that there's some experienced depth remaining on the roster...

Official Emory Williams - 2023 QB COMMIT

I had the same question about Kosar, particularly after the opener against Florida. The next game against Houston we only scored 14 points. We know what happened after that. I’m not claiming Williams has the “it factor”. We just have to trust the staff’s evaluations. But I remember a quote...

Below is roman's next level review. I looked at it when Emory's name first came up. At the 8:39 mark he calls it "4* film all day". Roman's Next Level Review

Official Emory Williams - 2023 QB COMMIT

For most positions but at QB there's something different going on. The stars seem heavily slanted towards grading physical attributes. For QBs, the between the ears intangibles become more of a factor.
