    2024 Recruiting

Kid spent a few years playing HS ball here in the 305. Nice kid, but not even close to being an ACC prospect. Would be a worse signing than Gak and it's not even close. Nothing to see here. Let's please move on.

As I said a few weeks ago, there's a lot of talk that VJ will end up at Dook with Flagg.

Done deal! Flagg is a dookie

Jalil is coming in as a 1 and done if all goes well for him. I'm afraid the VJ ship has sailed on from Miami. Hope I'm wrong, but don't even think he has an official visit set up with us.

This kid is very impressive. The more and more I watch, the more and more I like. Some are saying he may be the 2nd best player in the entire class. Coach L got him a good one!

    2024 Recruiting

I’m curious. When saying he’s top 98% percentile is that including all levels of college basketball, or just D-I? Power 5? ACC? What does it entail? When I go thru the stat sheets and see a guard averaging more than a big man that’s not a good sign. Can you imagine calling your SG a good 3-point...

    2024 Recruiting

Y'all do realize there are guards who averaged more blocked shots than Sam did his senior year, right? I mean, statistically his best year blocking shots wasn't better than some guards. Don't know too many people who'd call a 6'10" guy a very good shot blocker when he's averaging less than 6'3"...

    2024 Recruiting

Never heard of any player, in any sport, being top 150 or 200 in a statistical category and being labeled as good in that statistic. You say Sam was a pretty good rim protector. The other guy said Sam was a good rim protector. I think Sam was adequate at best. Was an okay shot blocker. Last...

    2024 Recruiting

Good rim protectors usually average a couple of blocks per game or close to it. The great rim protectors average a few. Saying a big man with a career high average of 1.3 bpg is good, is the equivalent of saying a starting 2 guard who scored 8 ppg is a good scorer. As I stated in the initial...

    2024 Recruiting

Imagine Duke, UNC, Kansas, or Louisville fans back in the day resorting to their football program as an excuse why they weren't able to land a 5-star recruit? Whether our original poster meant it as a tongue in cheek slight or was serious about his assertion, it was a dubious comment...

    2024 Recruiting

Two things a team can never have enough of and that's shooters and size. Only a fool would turn away athletic bigs (6'10"+) who can run the floor, challenge shots and rebound.

    2024 Recruiting

Tough to call someone a "good rim protector" when they averaged less than a block per game. He got better at it through out his 6 years at Miami, but I think he was adequate at best.

If our football team costed us a basketball recruit, I promise you that recruit was never coming. GO CANES!!

IF we can pluck Codie from the state of Texas, they can hang it up. Gonna be an uphill battle vs the Texas schools, but the way things are going I wouldn't put anything past this staff. Coach L and company are killin' it right now. Keep an eye on LSU as well. GO CANES!!!!

    2024 Recruiting

I heard a couple of Florida kids showed out tonight at the OTE Combine. Many in attendance had Karter Knox (6'6" W Tampa 2024) as the best player there. In addition, one of the top underclass performers was 15 year old, Marcis Ponder (7'0" C Miami 2026).

Hogwash on the late bloomer line. This kid's sophomore tape is pretty darn good. Probably just flew under the radar for whatever reason. May have been he hadn't had the chance to play on a bigger stage til now, but as early as the 10th grad he showed great potential with size, skill and versatility.

I just watched his highlights. Lot of similarities to Jordan Miller. A 6'7" guy who can dribble, pass and shoot. Love the fact he can play with his back to the basket or facing it. A 3 level scorer in the half court setting, but who looks his best in the open court. Good court vision. Plays with...

    2024 Recruiting

In recent years, Miami has been without a doubt the top program in the ACC. However, in the minds of many outside of South Florida, the pecking order in the ACC still has Duke and UNC at the top. Unfortunately, that's still how many of the elite prospects, their families and handlers think. And...

    2024 Recruiting

You do realize there are about a dozen or so Florida prospects rated higher than this kid? I've got no problem with his commitment, but let's not pretend like we just picked up a 5-star OOS kid. I'm content with how this staff is recruiting lately. Seems like they're making a concerted effort to...

Crazy I forgot about those two. Sad that neither one was able to reach their full potential. Lucas Barnes was highly regarded coming out of HS. If I remember correctly, one recruiting service even had him in the top 5 nationally. Don't think he was a McDonald's All-American though. Super...
