The parts of the beaches where there’s no bars tend to be the most family friendly. North of Sheridan on Hollywood beach and North of Sunrise in Fort Lauderdale.

If you hit downtown Fort Lauderdale, Las Olas Blvd, east of Andrews Avenue has lots of great spots. West of Andrews is the Himarshee district which is probably more of a college/early 20’s crowd.

Fort Lauderdale beach between Oakland Park blvd and Sunrise is simple. There’s just parking spaces and the sand. Once you go south of Sunrise, that’s were a lot of the shops, bars and restaurants are. More to do but also more crowded. Lauderdale by the Sea is just north of where you’re staying...
