See the chart below. I think it’s just an anomaly. Also we’re talking small sample sizes so it’s pretty understandable. 5 seeds have the 5th most final four appearances. So it looks to me like a 5 seed is due…

If Omier were available 6 is better than 5 IMO… without Omier we need the highest seed possible to get to the second weekend.

Efficiency metric rankings are steaming garbage. The fact they are even used to establish rankings for quad wins is stupid. Pitt ranked way below a Northwestern team who they woodshedded at Northwestern. Notre Dame smoked Michigan State but can’t win 3 games in the ACC season. The ACC is...

I literally posted the link above to the NCAA net rankings which show we have TEN quad 1+2 wins (6-4 and 4-0). Not very credible or smart.

The whole problem with the metrics is that it isn’t the difficulty of the non-conference schedule… the efficiency metrics punish you for not demolishing bad teams early in the season. Kenpom actually weights early season games more for some metrics. Lol. While big margins of victory (not...

Well… to start… this is factually false. According to https://www.ncaa.com/rankings/basketball-men/d1/ncaa-mens-basketball-net-rankings we have 10 Quad 1/2 wins. As compared to our 10-4 record in Quad 1/2 games, Tennessee boasts a 9-7 record in Quad 1/2 games. It is laughable that the RPI...

Our strength of record rank is 14 and Tennessee is 20. And they are consistently being seeded above us in projections. That isn’t extremely fair. O/D efficiency metrics are terrible ranking systems because there’s too many confounding variables that are not accounted for and badly skew the...

Seriously - this is not a joke - it’s all Kenpom’s fault. What is weighing us down is our defensive efficiency metrics (why we have had some close games against mediocre teams)… especially from early in the season. It is SO SO SO SO stupid, but the early season games that were closer...

My eyes tell me that Pack doesn’t finish well around the basket… so I’m not sure about the viability of him getting to the line more. No doubt L has his work cut out for him to bring Pack along to where he wants to be and we need him to be.

Butler gave KSU their only loss of the season. They’re not a tournament team but they’re absolutely a decent team. Regardless, Providence, UCF, Rutgers, NCSU, and Virginia are very solid wins at this point in the season and our only loss is a top-25 team in what was functionally an away game.

Silly to call Furman NCSU’s best win. Butler and Dayton are solid wins. NCSU, UCF, and Providence are all good teams who are in the conversation and can absolutely play their way into the tournament. Providence has no bad losses and two nice conference wins already. Re: Cornell - nobody has...

According to who, KenPom? We have wins against 5 teams that are heavily in the tournament conversation right now.
