The alumni game was today. Some interesting notes.
-Ruiz was DH today as he has a sore shoulder and may not play against Rutgers.
-Romy Gonzalez played 2nd base, which is something I hinted at in order to get his bat in the lineup.
-Veliz played 1st base as Barr is also dealing with an...
The past two years have finally brought the University of Miami baseball team back to their historically second home: Omaha. Unfortunately, the Canes had a short stay this past season, losing their first two games to Arizona and UC Santa Barbara, respectively. It was a showing that Miami fans...

Good story on one of our guys. Will be interesting to see if he cracks the OF with Chester, Tackett, and Davison.
So Woodrey came in vs Bethune tonight in the 9th, gave up 4 hits, 2 ER in 0.2 innings. Does this mean we may be going a different direction this weekend? Move Mediavilla to Friday, and add Lepore or Cabezas to the rotation?

Canes beat Stetson 4-2 tonight. Open ACC play this weekend at Virginia Tech. The big question right now is the status of Cooper Hammond. He left the game last night after an apparent injury. Obviously that is huge. We have one of the best bullpens in the country with him healthy. Anyone have any...

I think this is the guy we need to step up and become a big time starter for us. He is pitching for the Plymouth Pilgrims in the New England League right now and doing very well. Has like 11 K in 8 innings or so. Has hit in mid 90's. We need that.
Solid season getting back to Omaha and being one of six teams left. Having Gino Dimare back is starting to pay off. No offense to Mercadante but he really hurt us and Gino is obviously building it back. I've been writing on this site for baseball as well as for some other sites for college...
