This is very well said. The object is to get a first down. Any way you can. Usually you can more effectively do that by fooling the defense. If you telegraph run, the defense expects run, and then you run....you are setting yourself up for failure. Watch any nfl game. On short yardage...

We can be the most physical team in the history of college football but at the end of the day it's about wins and losses. If we aren't winning more, it doesn't matter. It's not about just fixing the physicality of our football team. It's about winning. Through 2 years Mario is losing. A lot.

This is exactly why you hire a head coach who is a badass at one side of the ball. Then you know that side will always be good and the HC only has to hit on one coordinator hire. Which obviously is much easier than have to nail 2 coordinator hires, which is what Mario has to do.
