Tirek Austin-Cave in portal, leaving WVU

I ranked him dead last among recruits in that class on film.

    Quick takes from Spring Game

Coaches do what makes them comfortable. Methodical offense is what Dawson likes to run. In a spring game, this is magnified by three. I’m not telling you they’re going to run tempo, because they aren’t going to, but they’ll vary things more in moments they need to during real games.

    Quick takes from Spring Game

Marley Cook is a one-gap penetrator if he ever plays 1-tech. You’d never want him playing 0. He’s small. Strong and good leverage, but just doesn’t have the length to do anything more than be an impediment. He’s a natural 3-tech to my eyes.

    Quick takes from Spring Game

After watching some and talking to people who have been to practice, it’s clear the guy I undervalued the most is McConathy. I watched two games of his and felt like he was a solid frame bet with an excellent motor. He’s already surpassed that and he should still be in high school. Edge/pass...

    You missed the joke.

He really has a blind spot for that kid. Not sure why he does this.

    Thankfully Cuvet played today.

    4/5/24 Game 30: Duke 15-14 L

For me, it’s all about the process. And I think the process we are seeing is absolute junk. There have been some encouraging signs of development from some of the hitters, in my opinion. I’ve liked what I’ve seen in the development of Rafe. Some of the young arms look like they’ll be...

    4/5/24 Game 30: Duke 15-14 L

This team is extremely shallow as it is. Cuvet has been a staple this year. Saying he should be pulled off the field because he’s slumping is emotional. Who do you propose replacing him with?

    This is emotional.

    4/5/24 Game 30: Duke 15-14 L

Getting to two outs only to give up the knock is just so Miami.

Their closer is good, but gives up slug. Gonna need a bomb off him.

It was always going to come down to earth, but earth has been harder than expected.

    4/5/24 Game 30: Duke 15-14 L

That's why cashing in on some of your earlier opportunities was so important. Also the reason we aren't good this year, honestly.

    4/5/24 Game 30: Duke 15-14 L

2-2 changeup to the leadoff hitter was a strike. Missed call there and next batter gets the knock, of course. Ziehl has been a horse this year.

Transfer C Lynn Kidd signs with Miami

What approach would you take? The metrics, other than Box Score +/- are generally descriptive, as in telling us what happened, rather than predicting what will happen. The data is the data. It generally tells who a player is. As far as the film side of things goes, I don’t know enough to...

Transfer C Lynn Kidd signs with Miami

Not my favorite either, but is a metric among many that he fares well in. PER is essentially designed to tell a story about how much you add/subtract other than simply shooting the ball. All metrics have their downfall, and one can poke holes in most any of them if you choose. I like to...

Bunting to bring up bottom of order. I’ve seen it all.
