What if Butch Davis would've stayed at Miami? (Article)

I'm not the biggest Butch person on here, but his college record would be over .500 if you count his forfeited wins at UNC.

    For all the Searels haters

I remember Art Kehoe making similar videos. This is all meaningless PR. Searles should have been gone after last year. Period.

    Over on 8.5 easily.

Do the Canes Need a True Offensive Coordinator?

He probably should get an OC and be less vanilla on playcalling but I think the OL is a bigger problem. With that being said it's his fault for retaining Searles for this year. Anybody who's not some mindless coach homer knew Searles needed to fired after the Orange Bowl, and actually probably...

    cbs ranks college football coaches

KSU was the worst power conference program of all time by far when he took over. With that being said I'm a bit skeptical of how much Snyder seriously does nowadays. He's about 79.

    cbs ranks college football coaches

While I think Richt is probably too low, you have to be an idiot to compare what Richt did at UGA to what Chip Kelly did at Oregon.

Cutcliffe should be higher than 21.

    Nick Saban...

What's with the hatred for Saban? If you don't want him to win then you need to beat him.

    cbs ranks college football coaches

Malzahn and Mullen ahead of Richt is stupid. IDK about Lincoln Riley- he's hard to rank at this point. We'll have a better feel for him after about 2019 once he's playing without Stoop's players. One reason why I think Riley might be the real deal is because he's largely credited for having...

The Hall of Fame case for Howard Schnellenberger

He did a good job at FAU and Louisville. But I wouldn't say he did a CFB Hall of Fame job at either of those places. (Let alone anything that would qualify him as one of the best CFB coaches of all time.) His job at Miami is really the only reason he deserves to be in the CFB Hall of Fame. If...

    Miami working on Richt extension

Actually it's the 4th time since 1987 we've played all 3 in the same season. Granted that one of the years that we played all 3 teams (2016), Richt himself was the coach. And honestly beating ND in 2010 and 2012 would have been pretty difficult. In 2012 they made the NC game. In 2010 we were...

    Miami working on Richt extension

The best season in 15 years? 2003 was better than last year and IDK about 04-05. By the time we were playing Va Tech on a regular basis we weren't playing Notre Dame anymore. Of course there aren't very many years where we beat FSU, ND and Va Tech in the same year. We never played ND between...

Va. Tech co-defensive coordinator Scott resigns amid affair

Foster's only 58. I find that shocking. I assumed he was at least 10 years older. I guess I thought he was old since he's been the OC at VT for at least 30 years.

    Miami working on Richt extension

Nobody's calling to fire Richt. It's just hard to see what he's done to deserve an extension when he still has 3 years left on his contract.

Va. Tech co-defensive coordinator Scott resigns amid affair

Foster's pretty old at this point. I assume Scott was brought in as an apprentice to take over when Foster retired. They're going to have to find a different DC in a few years, I guess.

    Miami working on Richt extension

Actually 2004-2005 was a better win %. .750 those 2 years vs .730 the last 2 years. And that was vs a tougher schedule. According to Sagarin we had the 9th and 22nd best schedules in 2004-2005 and have had the 26th and 29th toughest schedules the last 2 years.

    Miami working on Richt extension

Richt's recruiting was mediocre at best until this year. And even this year's class was something of a letdown after we had the #1 recruiting class for most of the summer.

    Miami working on Richt extension

Where's your proof that all kinds of teams were looking at Richt? The only teams that were recorded as looking at him were UVA and Miami. With that being said there are usually a fairly limited number of elite jobs that are open each cycle. It's not like teams are always looking for a new coach.

    Lack of elite talent

Golden was not a bad recruiter. He actually was pretty good at QB evaluations. Rosier and Kaaya turned out well despite not being highly sought after recruits.
