Is this the biggest "WHAT IF?" Miami season ever?

Come on now... Completely joking of course.

Is this the biggest "WHAT IF?" Miami season ever?

VT still beats us but we definitely beat Tennessee that year...

Is this the biggest "WHAT IF?" Miami season ever?

Careful now... We win 2002 against OSU and Coker would have been given a much long leash beyond 2006. I know, a Natty is still a Natty - but Coker probably stays another 2-3 years after 2006 firing in that case.

Is this the biggest "WHAT IF?" Miami season ever?

Fair point. I could flip those the other way too - what if Dawson didn't go conservative against Clemson with Emory in and what if TVD played a half decent game against UVA? We handle both of those games easily...

Is this the biggest "WHAT IF?" Miami season ever?

I've watched a lot of Miami football over the past 25+ years. In nearly ever season after 2002 we have had major gaps on both sides of the ball and in coaching. However this season was the first time I can recall seeing "balance" in nearly ever position on offense, defense and (most) coaching...

    Pate's Take on the Win

I like him because he truly believes that college football is a premium sports product and loves the college pageantry and what it offers the fanbase. He wants to save college football at all cost. That includes saving what Miami stands for.

    Pate's Take on the Win

Comparatively? Yes. It was rumored that Pate was offered a contract with ESPN last year. He picked up a massive sponsorship with Academy sports and studio investment which now allows him creative freedom to make the show he wants.

    Pate's Take on the Win

Josh Pate is one of the best in the business right now and it was 100% home grown. 0% reliance on big networks (ESPN) to grow his audience and you can tell he wants to keep it that way.

    5 straight losses to UNC...

Heard them saying it during the broadcast and had to go double check - 100% true, last win over UNC was the stomping we put on them in 2018 at Hard Rock. 0-5 since then with three of those losses being by 3 points. Mac Brown absolutely owns our ***. Crazy times...

Forgive my lack of football knowledge….

Craziest thing about this whole incident is that if we weren't wearing the BLACK "Miami Nights" jerseys, it would have been clearly visible where the ball was when his elbow hit the ground.

Terrible Call, but not a locker room losing call

I get what you're saying, but when one of your team leaders instinctively responds with "what the f*ck are we doing?" while also holding back tears at the end of the game, it's safe to assume there are at least a handful of guys thinking the exact same thing. If it festers throughout the week...

Good luck everyone - next 48-72 hours are going to be rough

The last 2 minutes of the GT game is going to be talked about on every podcast, sports radio show and sports TV show between now and Tuesday. College Football Final, assume multiple NFL shows, Sports Center, Pardon My Take, Around the Horn, PTI... Get ready for the Miami/Cristobal onslaught...

Deepest QB draft in recent history - where does that leave TVD/Miami?

I have a love-hate relationship with Russillo's podcast. He's really really good when he's "on", but when he's "off it's a mess. Plus he brings on his "buddies" like Danny Kannell who add absolutely no value to the podcast. He's throwing McShay a bone here having him on weekly because McShay...

Deepest QB draft in recent history - where does that leave TVD/Miami?

Nix, Travis and Penix are all older than TVD. Two of those QBs have had bigger "redemption arcs" than TVD at this point with Nix + Penix completely flipping their NFL potential in less than a year.

Deepest QB draft in recent history - where does that leave TVD/Miami?

Yup - and regarding "watching Penix Jr. in Miami" - I heard that too and think he meant Indiana.

Deepest QB draft in recent history - where does that leave TVD/Miami?

Listening to Todd McShay this morning on a podcast and he laid out a lot of interesting facts about this years NFL draft, specifically how it is by far the deepest QB draft he can remember in his 20 years covering NCAAF/NFL. Some key points: - 4-to-4.5 QBs go in the first three rounds on...

    In 3 years...

That's where I have mixed emotions. I desperately want Mario to work out - not because it's Mario, but because of the mediocrity of the past 20 years. However, this season FELT different in all the wrong ways. Never have I watched this many games in one season where a Miami team was out...

Washington to create Sean Taylor statue

Who knows... Really easy to get the "World Cup" edition of Copa Mundials so I'm pretty sure someone had an intern purchase "Sean Taylor's Adidas soccer cleats" without specifying. Whoever buys the team will eventually throw down some money for a legit statue because it is well past due...

Washington to create Sean Taylor statue

To be fair To be fair Sean Taylor DID wear Adidas soccer cleats in the NFL - looks like Copa Mundials with metal studs. So technically this is not a mistake but historically accurate:
