    Big Zion Nelson

That was part of it. The other part was the fact he had his bass shaved down a bit when having it refinished, making the body lighter. Also, Chris was a big dude, so his hands were big. A lot of his tone came from his left hand. It really does make a difference. I didn't realize how big...

The pickups, for starters. It had older style pickups. The neck was a toaster. I want to say something about the bridge was a little different as well, maybe the pickup cover? It's been 20 years. As for guitars, I have owned everything from an early "Rickenbacher" (when it was ch not ck)...

Chris Squire is the one who made the Rickenbacker sound so good everyone else wanted one. **** that man could play. I've owned a handful of Rickenbacker basses and guitars over the years, and they were all great. One in particular was a 1974 that was a custom order. I didn't realize it...

Change your name to Tom and you might have a deal. As for that bassline, it's awesome.

    Huge loss for the program

Regardless of SMD's question, I can hear Mike Leach right now... "Susan, it's obvious you have never been on a pirate ship."

    5* DT Bear Alexander

If he was chasing you, you'd be out of there so fast. Believe me. Bears are no joke. Signed, DBC

Jacolby George: Everything came together because of Kevin Beard

Not for long it won't be. I will say this. I always liked Beard as a WR coach. I'll never forget how so many people around here were glad when he was let go the first time, and we hired Ron Dugans. I never understood the hate for Beard then. Our WRs actually learned how to block under him...

Is Elija Lofton the Rueben Bain of Offense?

I like a RB that isn't 180 pounds soaking wet. It's about time we had a grownass man back there.

    Roster Adjustment- Post Spring

I see Williams as finishing third in the QB battle, which isn't a bad thing for him. He'll be behind two guys that will eventually graduate, and he'll have a great shot at the starting job. ****, injuries happen, and he might see the field sooner.

Is Cam Ward the best QB we’ve had since Dorsey? Lance Roffers breaks down the film and numbers

We ruin Ward and what QB worth a crap will give us a second look?

    Thoughts on Friday's spring practice

We let the college football world pass us by. All we needed was a coach with an exciting brand of football, and the players would have flocked here. Instead, we kept beating that "NFLU" dead horse. It takes more than the U on the helmet to get into the NFL. Young men, especially on the O...

    Thoughts on Friday's spring practice

Yep. I've been saying for several years now that we'll see a good season again when someone breaks the UM record for TDs by a QB. Seriously, our QB record book looks pretty pathetic, compared to most schools. For a school once known as QBU, our record book looks very, very pedestrian...

Ward took ALL 18 OL (including walkons) for Steaks at Fogo de Chao

Have you tried one well done, with ketchup? I heard from a poster on here that it's the best. But seriously, a QB that takes care of their OL is one who is making a wise business decision. ****, look at Dan Marino. He bought his OL Isotoner gloves, and they never allowed a sack. :)

    Canes Memorabilia (Programs and Jerseys)

Yep, he was the head guy at the time. I want to say a guy named Gary Collins was the assistant. Those were good times.
