It's not campaigning. I've been lucky enough to watch him play. I suspect those calling him a Plan B haven't. There is a reason his offer list is exploding.
As for his speed, here is how his 100M compares to other Dade backs at the same age:
Henry Parrish- 11.09
Dalvin Cook- 11.18
I've mentioned before that this is the best OL class I can remember. Dumervil, Walker, Denis and Martinez all have big-time offers. I've posted before about Khris Love. Below are some lesser-known linemen who flashed, including one DT:
Gerald Mincey- 6'6, 317 (Cardinal Gibbons)- Big upside...
Both guys are from the same area, have the same wiry WR-type frame, both have outstanding feet and both are incredibly productive.
Smith made his name with 2,567 yards his final season at UCF. Likewise, Parrish has made his own hype with his production:
23 carries, 214 yards...
Nobody said we had Bama talent. That’s a straw man.
I’m just posting facts. To the extent I’m “suggesting” anything, it’s what the numbers make plain: we are wasting colossal amounts of talent. Including on the OL.
Had to leave early for a Baptism.
My main takeaway is that this is the best OL class I can remember. Dumervil is a five star and every bit as impressive as Neal last year. Marcus Tate will be a five-star in 2021 and has another leap in him as he grows into his body.
This is where you show your lack of perspective. Every program has some useless offensive linemen on its roster. Bruce Feldman wrote an entire article about it. A college personnel guy told him that every team has at least five OL busts on scholarship because of the nature of the position.
Threads like this are about perspective.
Fans often lack perspective when it comes to their own OL. It’s easy to see a weak-link tackle who gives up a sack. But we aren’t watching every game from every team. They have issues, too.
Your references to Mahoney and the lack of depth only...
Linder is the highest paid center in NFL history. Bryant McKinnie and Chris Myers made Pro Bowls.
By comparison, Alabama has only produced one Pro Bowl OL since 2002 (Evan Mathis).
We aren’t OL U. That’s Wisconsin or Iowa. But our front-line talent is miles ahead of what people think.
Our most dominant line ever (2001) didn't do much in the pros. Sherko was a CFL guy. Bibla lasted three years, Gonzalez lasted four years, Romberg lasted five years. The only consistent starter was McKinnie. They overachieved in college.
By comparison, look at our 2013 line. Brandon Linder is...
