Before Manny Diaz and Craig Kuligowski flew out to the West Coast on Monday morning to check in on D.J. Johnson, they were with fellow defensive end commit Jonathan Garvin on Sunday.

The talented pass rusher out of Lake Worth, FL told CanesInSight on Monday night that he will be finalizing his Miami official date in the coming days and does not have any other in-home visits scheduled with other schools. He added that Miami coaches will be back next week to see him in-home again.

There was previously talk that Tennessee was in the picture for Garvin, but that does not appear to be the case any longer.

Big news. This kid can definitely be molded into something special.

Pete do you know if he'll be an EE yet? I remember he was on pace to be a few weeks ago...

SDE- Chad Thomas, Demetrius Jackson, Jonathan Garvin, Scott Patchan

DT- RJ McIntosh, Kendrick Norton, Gerald Willis, Tyreic Martin, Jonathan Ford, Courtel Jenkins, Ryan Fines

WDE- Joe Jackson, DJ Johnson, Trent Harris, Pat Bethel

(Keep in mind, you practically move every one of the DE's around to either side)

Holy ****... Just thinking of the looks we can throw out there in different package rotations... Smh, QB's & OL's gonna **** bricks in the film room preparing for this.

Seems like we got a lot of kids like Garvin, Donaldson, Jennings and Amari in this class that are just keeping heir mouth shut. Don't know what it means but seems different than recent years. Even targets like Holloman and McFarland are pretty quiet.

Have to disagree on Holloman. He's not quiet at all. He's been touting Georgia all day everyday. Would be amazing if it's an epic troll job.

I guess I'm comparing to guys like Keef and Bruce and Scarlett and Collins who were giving interviews to Rivals once a week for months. Maybe it's just times change, these kids do all their **** on Twitter now and I don't see it. Just seems tamer than usual.

If we don't have enough quality DBs, just throw some more DEs out there. Is an 8-3-0 defense a thing yet?

Kids like him are the high quality SoFl recruits we've been shunned by for a few years. Everybody knew if The U dedicated itself to football we'd be something to contend with.
