South Dade OG Denis confirms Paradise attendance, details thoughts on Canes

Back in March, 2020 South Dade (FL) 3-star OG Jonathan Denis landed a Miami offer while on campus at Underclassmen Day. Since then, the 6’3”, 290 pounder has kept his recruiting profile growing, gaining scholarships from Power 5 programs such as Georgia, LSU, Mississippi State, Nebraska and NC State. However, he maintains UM is still in his top 4 as he did in April, but didn’t want to name the other three schools.

“No, nothing’s changed,” Denis said on UM’s standing. “Even before I had the offer, Miami has always been amazing in my eyes.”

On his last visit, Denis was able to see his possible position coach in action, as he took in a UM spring practice and watched OL coach Stacy Searels work with his guys in the trenches.

“It was great seeing how he coaches and how he does things,” Denis said on Searels. “I feel like our relationship is just going to grow from here.”

In fact, it’s the entire coaching staff at UM that’s drawing Denis to the program and is a huge factor for him when he evaluates a school.

“I love the coaching staff,” Denis said of the Canes. “I like the way they all coach and how they can identify each of their player’s flaws and tell them how to fix it. Again, that shows a lot about the school and the coaches.”

And Denis will get to experience that next-level coaching very soon: he has confirmed that he will be on campus for Paradise Camp next weekend.

“Yes, I am looking forward to getting coached by Coach Searels,” Denis said.

What are his expectations for Paradise with plenty of South Florida talent expected to be in attendance?

“I’m expecting a lot of competition out there, I’m excited to go against everybody” Denis said. “But it’s Paradise camp, so why wouldn’t there be competition?”

With his junior season on the horizon, Denis is still taking his process slow, planning no upcoming visits and no set decision timetable. He is content to simply make his choice whenever the right school becomes absolutely clear.

3 guys from South dade in the 20' class we need to grab and Dennis is one of them!!

Good size already 6-3/280-290. Looks like a guy in the Scafie mold. Locking down top OL talent in the area is a necessity.
There is not the massive amount of top DL and OL talent in S. Fl area as compared to some other spots. We cannot let top talent leave these tri-county schools.
Just like this area has an inordinate amount of players in the skill and speed positions we can more-or-less pick and choose due to the depth and other top schools come here to recruit those positions.

True, but it annoys the **** out of me when homeboys say the local team in their top 5. You cannot have a top five when you can only "choose" one school.
