**Things are getting absolutely rolling for this coaching staff on the recruiting trail. I expect Miami to land a few more commitments by week one of the season. Some candidates for that are Trajan Bandy, Amari Carter, and Bradley Jennings, Jr.

**What a pickup for Craig Kuligowski in D.J. Johnson from Sacramento, California. Here’s the scoop with him…Johnson had been notifying the staff for about a month that he was planning...

Miami's pursuit of local talent seems to roll through Miami Central high school, as it should. With Miami already having Rockets linebacker Waynmon Steed in the fold, the coaches are trying to add a defensive end from the school.

3-star WDE Owen Carney's price went up this summer -- in a big way. Over the last month, he has visited the likes of Miami, Alabama, Georgia, Auburn, South Carolina, Georgia Tech, Florida State, Florida, and Louisville....

One of the first commitments to Miami's 2017 recruiting class was south Florida product Jonathan Ford, a 6-5, 270- pound defensive lineman.

The Hurricanes coaching staff seems more than content to have a defensive tackle class led by Ford, which is something that he notices and appreciates.

"I'm so fired up about that coaching staff and everything at Miami because they actually believe in me," he said. "Even...

The Miami Hurricanes added a major piece to their recruiting class on Monday night, as 4-star Sacramento-based defensive end D.J. Johnson committed to Mark Richt’s program.

Johnson had been a long-rumored lean to Miami. He visited two weekends ago for paradise camp, and said that the coaches were aware that he was favoring the Canes. On Monday night, the 6-5, 240-pound rush end announced his decision in a YouTube video.

One of the focal points for Mark Richt and his staff in their first full recruiting cycle at Miami has been shifting the image of the Hurricanes program in the eyes of recruits. The reputation surrounding the hometown program over the past 4-5 years had turned sour with not only with individual recruits, but high school coaches and programs as well.

The success of last weekend's Paradise Camp, paired with the new staff's relentless pursuit to not only repair, but strengthen relationships all over south Florida has led to the masses taking notice. In nearly every interview I conduct with a recruit or anybody involved ...

The Miami Hurricanes added another Njoku to the program this weekend as 2017 WR Evidence Njoku (6-4, 190) committed to Mark Richt and staff on Monday.

"At first I was going to commit to a school in September, but once I got out there and David being there, it was a factor," said Njoku.

"It was a surprise to everybody, even to me."

Although Evidence did not participate in the camp on Saturday night, one moment from the weekend stuck out to him in particular....

Most of the attention of Miami’s Paradise Camp has been put on some of the NFL greats who were guest coaches or speakers at the event. The Hurricanes coaching staff had an even more detailed plan for top safety priority Amari Carter, who spoke about his experience with CanesInSight.

“Right when we got there, I had a meeting set up with the President Julio Frenk,” said Carter.

“I was the first football player (recruit) to ever meet with him....

2018 4-star offensive lineman Blaine Scott (6-5, 300) out of Portsmouth, Ohio said he was "mind blown" by his visit to Coral Gables for Paradise camp last weekend.

"It was an unreal event that really exceeded my expectations," Scott said.

"The Paradise Camp was unlike anything I've ever experienced in a camp or visit. It was an unofficial visit with some physical and mental work and it was just nuts -- everything from Coach Richt's amazing backflip off the high dive to meeting ...
