Miami Hurricanes guard transfer Divine Ugochukwu has attracted interest from multiple teams after entering the transfer portal, but he mentioned that three teams are recruiting him the most aggressively.

The teams are Texas Tech, USC, and Michigan State. He also informed Sam Kayser on Twitter that he had a Zoom meeting with Michigan State yesterday and has another scheduled for today with USC.

Kentucky, Baylor, Pittsburgh, Iowa, Texas, Oklahoma State, Virginia Tech, Dayton, South Florida, Vanderbilt, High Point, Ball State, and Louisiana have also reached out to the Miami transfer guard.

During his one season with the Miami program, he averaged 5.3 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 2.3 assists for the Hurricanes in the 2024-25 season. He also shot 48.3% from the field.

After graduating from Clements High School in Sugar Land, TX, he was rated a three-star prospect for the 2024 cycle by 247Sports.

It’s odd he left. He isn’t gonna start at any of those schools.

We could use a backup true PG. Dante Allen will work but seeing how we pursued Acaden Lewis, I’d think we want a real PG. Divine woulda been nice. Esp with Lucas’ TX connection.

He’ll go home to Texas Tech I bet.

I got the impression that Lucas and UM pretty much told the entire team to work on finding new places to play for next season. I’m not sure it was Divine’s choice.

He definitely did and I don’t blame him one bit. Get everyone out of here and get your guys here.

Of all our players, he is the one I wanted retained the most

Even as a true PG, if you pose no threat to the opposition in terms of your perimeter game, it's hard to play major minutes/contribute.

Plus, he wasn't exactly an assist machine or lock down defender either.

Hope his shopping goes well , if it doesn’t oh well he’s been replaced.

He needs to head to Michigan State if they offer. Izzo is the master at developing guards.

Joe Tipton says Divine Ugochukwu is officially visiting Michigan State on Monday and Tuesday.
