**Brad Kaaya had been holding out hope for a while that his school would allow him to graduate early, but he told me today that he will not be able to do so. The hold-up is a religion class that his school requires him to take. Kaaya is still solid to Miami regardless of him not being able to get in early, but this is a blow to his chances of starting as a true freshman. Kaaya will be in attendance for Miami's bowl game in Orlando against Louisville. I may sound like a broken record here, but he has yet to give me any indication that he is flipping from Miami despite other reports.

**Speaking of Brad Kaaya, he is pumped up about the possibility of playing with his teammate Brayden Lenius at the next level. I mentioned Lenius as a name on the radar a couple weeks ago and look for that offer to come next week after the dead period is over. Lenius is back in Canada right now for break, but look for him to visit Miami in January as well. I expect multiple big programs to pull the trigger with him as well so Miami won't be a lock for him. Having Kaaya on board is a huge deal with him though. The two have formed a great connection in their first season together. Lenius has incredible upside and becomes even more important depending on the qualifying status of Lockley and Griffin.

**Miami got a big boost to their recruiting class yesterday with the signing of Junior College defensive tackle Calvin Heurtelou, but it will come down to the wire with the other junior college commit, Michael Wyche. Wyche is currently struggling to qualify for Miami and the Canes have sent in an appeal for him. A class with Wyche and Heurtelou would go a long way to solving the issues on the defensive line, so hopefully for Miami they can get Wyche into school

**For weeks, we have heard that Dalvin Cook is FSU bound and nothing in the last few days has changed my prediction that he will wind up there. A Central teammate said this week that he thought Miami was where Cook would end up, but that's about the only pro-Miami thing I've heard with him in the last three weeks.

**A Carol City source told me that Trayone Gray is working his hardest to qualify at Miami. Last I was told, he had work to do on both his GPA and test scores so I'm afraid this sense of urgency might be coming a little too late and I have not realistically counted on Gray to be apart of this class, but he would be a massive addition as an elite playmaker with a 5-star body.

**We will be getting definitive word on Derrick Griffin within the coming days. Everything hinges on his ACT score that he took on December 13th. I know some people have wondered if he will get the scores back with enough time to enroll, but that will not be an issue. Miami does not begin second semester classes until January 13th. Griffin will be a true freshman at Miami if he qualifies.

**I checked on the status of Braxton Berrios' mid-foot injury that he suffered during his season and he told me he is "basically" 100%. Berrios will be competing in the Under Armour All-American game so hopefully the effects of that injury are not shown.

Im still confident in Gray too I think he can do it but it will be down to the wire

****...Wyche is huge. Grade issues have had a major impact the last few years.

Pete, thanks bruh. What's your opinion on Scarlett? Curious...

Please I want Griffin... we need that red zone threat... I think Kaaya's teammate's offer will be contingent to whether Griffin gets in...

Pete, do you think Miami will be successful with their appeal for Wyche?

Thanks for the report Pete. Much appreciated. I'm still holding on to the idea that playing at UM will be too much for DC to walk away from in the end.

That makes no sense - they are 2 classes apart
Idk if you mean physically or in this class of 2014. Now they're both in this class but I agree physically they aren't the same at all, Lenius needs years to become Griffin if that even happens and im sorry a 17 year old won't play on this team unless this kid is a future 1st rounder from day 1 here and I have to see it. Would LOVE TO HAVE BOTH

Pete what's Wyches appeal about exactly? Is it something that would make you doubt that he gets in?
