There is something weird going on here. Why would Blake James agree to cancel the game this week and "keep" the football players in SoFla, but allow the Basketball team and staff to get out of dodge and camp out in Atlanta for the Hurricane? Why wouldn't all sport teams from UM execute the same plan? whether the plan is to stay put or pull chalks to another location where it would be safer.

Because one is team and staff roughly 20 people the other is 130 plus. The housing options are nowhere near the same. Unfortunately we don't have traveling hotels that come everywhere with us. It's absurd we gotta justify canceling this game to our own fan base. This is real life. ***** a game.

I'm with you and agree with safety first...just thought it was weird that 2 different teams from the same school were given different marching orders. It turns out the BB team players are not heading up to Atlanta as a team, rather several of them decided to head up together, while Coach L is heading elsewhere to be with his wife and family

Do you understand the logistics of probably 100+ UM Players and Staff traveling for football vs 15-20 for basketball?

I actually do. and I know that Tulane University pulled all of their sports teams to include the football team out of New Orleans in the lead up to Katrina hitting...

That's because it's New Orleans. I went to Tulane. We evacuated every single year I was in school there for Hurricanes that didn't hit, and that was before Katrina. They evacuate that city if there's a hurricane anywhere in the Gulf.

Praying for the best. The new advisory isn't looking good right now

Some Georgia fans loved Mark Richt because he held some things up as "bigger than football" - family, community values, keeping a clean program.

Other Georgia fans hated Mark Richt because they said he had other priorities ahead of football. They said he didn't have the fire, the drive, the savagery to win when it really counted.

I think we'll see Miami fans divided on the same lines, especially if they lose the FSU game. Would be just another example of Richt losing a big game because he had something else he valued more than winning. Some people will love him for it, others will resent him.

no real miami fans give a **** bout their lives, homes, and families over a game. this has nothing to do with richt and more to do with people sharing the same situation with the coming storms. NO ONE GIVES A **** BOUT THIS GAME>

Do you give a **** about the FSU game? Think it's a good idea to maybe practice for that game?
Don't worry, he will be ing when we lose because of no practice

Not a good look by our fan base right now. Just wow. SMH

You're looking at what amounts to about 2% of our fanbase. Just look at Twitter, basically the people calling out our players are Gators, Ark St morons, and a handful of Miami idiots.

Smh at you not knowing better

I'm not trying to start an argument here, but I'm seeing screenshots of DM's being sent to kids from CANES fans.

I'm seeing Canes fans tweeting at our Coaches, players, & recruits. IMO it's just not a good look, no offense to anyone.

I know my stance whole issue on this isn't popular around these parts but I only voice it here.

I can't imagine even contacting a current player or corch on social media and criticizing the decision.

lulz

I agree that the idiots are in every fanbase, and I know that what we voice here is more like shooting the **** with the fellas at the bar.

My issue is with the overzealous Miami "fan" that's out on social media telling kids that their soft &/or dumb for not wanting to go to Arkansas.

I certainly wasn't singling anyone out here, this is like our "safespace". Judgement free zone. LOL

Yes brock, I am aware of this. I was simply providing an example of a "fan" actually going at a Coach.

I worry about how other teams will spin this in regards to recruiting.

There is nothing to spin. It's a disaster hurricane about to hit south Florida. How dare they would try to do such a treacherous act. Actually J hova from uf tried to do make a joke of us canceling the game but he's a piece of sh*t so I wouldn't expect anything less. It's all about them trying to get their jokes in no matter the situation. [TWEET]905414664900812800[/TWEET]
Personally for the players safety it would have been better if they all would have left to go to Atlanta for their safety to get out of harms way(not necessarily play the game in Arkansas since their family and the storm would be weighing heavily on their minds)

So they didn't want to go to Arkansas because getting back to Miami would be the problem. Yet now guy's are going to Baltimore and North Florida. Will it be easier to get back to Miami from all those places?

Yeah that doesn't make sense at all.
