PODCAST: Spring Deep Dive (Defense) ft. D$ and Coach Duasso

Do we know if Diaz will continue calling the defense?

We were an offense away last year, score just 28 points every game in the regular season and we go 11-1 in 2018...

With a continued dominant defense and much improved offense we will go far. Remember we had the WORST passing offense Miami has had in over 10 years last year. Enos specializes in the passing game so he will greatly improve that

we drop 28 a game we cleaning that sched, we need a QB to step up and lead in a bad way. We get that we can shock people

Defense will keep us in games until the offense gets its act together..

No K9 or Apenny? Definitely sounds like it’ll be a great show .

Good podcast D-Money. You both sound enthused by the prospects of what the season can be with an offense that won’t be offensive to watch play. I too am of the belief the defense will more than carry the workload as Enos tweaks the offense to perform extremely well given our personnel groupings. Call me crazy but I just think the defense will have more TFL’s in 2019 than last year. I think we’ll show up more in sacks as well, Baker should really thrive learning from a top flight defensive coach and if things get out of hand then Manolo can always step in if need be. But I doubt it comes to that, Baker will really be like a kid on Xmas with all the wonderful toys wrapped under the tree for him to unwrap. As Brock said we put 28 on the board, I can’t see anybody putting fear into us nor have an opportunity to beat us. I’ve called 11-2 and I still see that happening.

Oh boy. You guys really think Jon Ford was performing as well as Gerald Willis before he got hurt? Is that an indictment on our interior line or was he really that good?

For once I don't care who the QB starter is (even though I think its Martell) because I trust Enos, but I'm concerned about the defense. I know the scrimmages were run by walk-ons and depth guys, but do we have any evidence that Bubba can play at a Redwine or Johnson level? What about Carter or Hall? Are Ivey and Blades good enough?

And also to factor in this equation is the punting game! ST were the worse in UM history. We gave up field position on every punt. Now with the Freak taking care of that “we good”!

I mean if the team actually gets leads this year (which it should) the sacks should go up, possibly even by quite a bit

The Gerald Willis/Ford comparison was a quote from somebody in the program. Obviously, Ford has a lot to prove on the field.

Thanks for the podcast D-Money. Excited for the coming season. Perhaps it’s all the change, for the good. At the same time, I’ve tempered my expectations as the unknowns is too much for me to expect 10 or 11 wins. My Q’s:
How does Diaz perform as HC?
Which QB wins the job leading the team and performing above average?
Can Enos scheme consistently the OL’s past inconsistent play?
Do we have enough at DT and DB’s?
Does our Punter and Kicker step up?

I think we can get to 9 wins. Swing games:UF, VT, UVA and FSU. Let’s get this going! 99 days til kickoff! Kick the GATOR!!!

Super Podcast and great having Dwasso (so?) Back on. I’m stoked to see both phases play, but any insight on Special Teams. Have you guys seen any improvement in the teachings or schemes. since Patke took over? Any chance at a ST podcast featuring Hitman Hedley?
