Biggest weakness is player development, and game day coaching
It's gotten better, but still needs improvement. We just missed filling every hole with the portal, as most everyone else. Now if we develop in camp and during the season, we should be fine. If we don't, a few injuries can put us in a difficult situation.
Our biggest weakness is repetitive ******* mopey porsters.
The headline literally says "Biggest Weaknesses ON THE CURRENT ROSTER".
DT depth. We basically can't afford any significant injuries there, which seems unlikely considering the position and how many times Barrow has to be helped off the field last year. Otherwise we'll likely have to give Mesidor/Bain some snaps there on early downs, which we know doesn't work for Mesidor.
I get that we probably couldn't get 2 starter level DTs in the portal and keep Scott. That's just reality in this day and age when you sign a 5* DT.
However not keeping Horton, then not getting the UF kid after we got him to go in the portal was bad. Either one of those guys are here they're our DT4 and anything we got from Jones/Simpson/Russell this year would be a bonus. Now those guys are bumped up to DT4 (or someone who isn't going to be great left from the portal), and if we suffer an injury they're DT3.
Ideally we'd have gotten Blay, kept Horton/gotten UF kid, and a big fat guy who could have helped against the run for 15-20 snaps a game. I porsted earlier today that I'm optimistic about the potential of our defense. Two ways that doesn't work out IMO: 1. Our outside corners are all overrated and can't win consistently on islands and/or 2. We suffer injuries at DT
