I'm liking the sound of this...

I hope that hack Robinson gets taken to task over his shoddy journalism when this is over but I'm sure he won't. Like most of us said I'm sure a few of those thing happened (mostly partying at clubs, Shapiro's place, etc) but most of it was exaggerated by a professional liar, Allen pretty much confirms that. Robinson took the story of a criminal as truth and made a ton of mistakes.

I really hope that he gets repremanded if it turns out he was wrong.

Even after Dequean was allowed to play again, he still ran his mouth and said how accurate his reports were. Can't stand his arrogance.

+1. Sean is a key piece to this puzzle. Nevin is a pu$$y that bought male relationships and his plot blew up in his face. Nevin doesnt have credibility. He's a convict for crying out loud.

Maybe we can sue Robinson and Yahoo and use that money to start building our own stadium in Miami :)

"In his deposition, Allen says Shapiro was tight with Canes athletes. "Nevin was close to a lot of players at UM, there's no question," he says. Indeed, Shapiro told Yahoo! Sports that Allen was critical to his paying off athletes and breaking NCAA rules. "[Sean] inevitably became a really good mole in between me and the players," Shapiro said. "He became the go-to guy."

"During the deposition, Allen confirmed many parts of Yahoo's report, including that stud recruit Jeffrey Godfrey (who ended up playing at the University of Central Florida) visited Shapiro's luxury box and had dinner at Benihana on the schemer's dime.

He also confirmed that dozens of former players, including big names such as Devin Hester, Tavares Gooden, Jon Beason, Kyle Wright, and Orien Harris had all taken improper gifts from Shapiro, mostly limited to going to parties at Mansion or hanging out on Shapiro's yacht."

We ain't skating. We are going to get nailed, maybe not as bad as people think, but we will be hit but good.

It's amazing what some people will choose to ignore when they want a particular outcome.

It's amazing that some people just wanna be cynics and completely ignored the part that said Allen wouldn't talk to the NCAA, much like every other former player chose not to do as well. So the only thing the NCAA has to go on is what current players and guys like Stoutland and Pannunzio(the 2 people who are really the only ones that could bury us) had to say.

When Shapiro gets out, I want him to grab a step ladder, climb up, and kiss my ***.

Former players attending pool parties.... Oh we deserved being nailed to the cross. STFU chicken little.

This is not a court of law, the NCAA does not need proof. If they decide there is enough evidence in their opinion (fact or not) that a bunch of rules were violated, they can still punish us. Whether or not you believe Shapiro is lying about certain things, I think it is more than fair to assume that at least a portion of what he is saying is true as we have already seen that (the suspended players, admitting guilt by giving ourselves a bowl ban). Now do I think we are going to get nailed to the cross, no; but I dont think we skate either. Maybe it depends on everyone's definition of 'skate', but I would think that based on what we know happened that the NCAA will assume at least some of the other things he claims are true (which I would think everyone here believes as well), if that is the case, I can't imagine that they will let us off.

If the NCAA decided to just go based upon stuff they "heard" then everyone would be getting the death penalty. While they may not be a court of law, they can't just go on complete speculation when no one is talking to them. Whether or not that makes the person "look guilty" doesn't matter. There's enough speculation out there to bury any of those schools they've been investigating.

Here is a link to the Heralds version of this and you can see that they are not nearly as rosy about it as this article. The NCAA has a copy of Allen's deposition in which, as the original article pointed out, he denies a bunch of Shapiro's claims, but also confirmed several of them such as former players (Hester, etc) getting extra benefits. Allen's attorney objected to the NCAA getting the deposition, but only b/c Allen hadn't been able to review it yet, one way or another they will almost certainly be getting it if they haven't already. Allen admitting to many violations and the NCAA having access to a deposition in a federal case should be more than enough proof for them.

Look, I dont want us to get nailed either, and maybe some of it is me expecting the worse so that I am prepared or pleasantly surprised, but I think it is unrealistic to think we are going to get off scott free here.

I don't think anyone is saying we get off scott free. Guys like Hester taking money would mean nothing more than wins being vacated. The ones that would be really damaging would be the ones that are deemed to be recruiting violations. Ray Ray only got a 4 game suspension. Was Dye even suspended for one game? Godfrey sat in his suite and had a free meal. Okay. So those are maybe good for a couple scholarship losses. Not much else though.
