Redwine is a Senior this year, so he's gone regardless.
That's right I thought he came in 16 for some reason not 15...so yeah we lose almost the whole starting secondary besides Bandy. Them not offering has me confused.

Lockdown Stevenson and Dent and call it a day
That would be great but be honest with yourself, what's the probability of Dent coming here? I'm not even 100% sure Stevenson comes here. We need to play it smart and offer DCW.

Eggs in 1 basket there huh? What indication if any has Dent even sniffed at flipping to Miami? You have a local kid who has D1 experience with a father that has pull in South Florida football and we won't even offer the kid while coaches on twitter screaming about stay home and make the crib great.

Let's see Dent has visited the last 2 games and has both mom and gf begging him to stay home.

Also do you know how hard it is for a Juco to clear ACC admission requirements. It's why you dont see many ACC schools even attempt to recruit JUCO kids. Also there is a reason why he had to transfer from Wisconsin that's not publicly known also.

And lastly he is undersized and we have 1 on the roster and 1 in the class already.

Dent is not coming to UM, I just don't see it happening. To my understanding grades is not the reason he left Wisconsin. He got screwed over in fall camp by the DC. It was a mass exodus, 4 or 5 of their defensive players transferred within a month. Louisville offered so they aren't to worried about him clearing admission requirements. Lastly, he isn't undersize. He's a legit 5'10.

Dude can play. We should have offered him the first time around out of HS. Should have offered him already. DCW is a player, and will blow up somewhere next season. Might as well be stepping in to fill Mike Jack's shoes here w/us.

First he has ACC, SEC, and B1G offers so I doubt grades are an issue, I know the reason he had to transfer and it is no fault of his own, or playing time. Undersized as far as height at 5'11 isn't that far off 6'0 and our undersized CB this year has arguably been our best CB all year. He adds depth and experience(something we will be missing a lot of next year)

Also as far as grades go, I highly doubt Vanderbuilt is offering anyone they thought grades could be an issue with.

Yea I don’t think juco students clearing admissions is a big issue in the ACC. Maybe to some schools in the ACC like Duke and GT but I have seen Syracuse take that route, VT, and Miami. Solid academic schools. This is not even counting UL, FSU and Clemson.

Hes not a true juco kid..he is a bounce back that only been at a juco for a semester.
He transferred for a reason and from what i heard it was some b.s. and you saw a few other kids leave at the same time.
He isnt that undersized. He's a solid 5'10 190+ kid. He can definately play here imo.

Why take a chance on getting one of the flakes to commit when you can legit add quality secondary depth rather easily>?.

Wiscy coaches up their players. I'd be thrilled to have this kid here.

CIS has learned that Miami has made contact with Independence C.C. (KS) CB Dontye Carriere-Williams.

Originally a 3-star corner from St. Thomas Aquinas that signed with Wisconsin in the class of 2016, Carriere-Williams is in a unique situation in that he requested and received his full release from Wisconsin at the very end of fall camp just 3 weeks ago. Carriere-Williams was in touch with a few FBS schools, including Miami, to make a direct transfer, but it was already so late in the registration process for many schools and he missed required add-drop dates. He also would have had to sit out this season entirely due to NCAA transfer regulations.

Instead, Carriere-Williams elected to play junior college ball this season and jumped to Independence, a school best-known for being featured on the most recent season of Netflix’s documentary series, “Last Chance U”. Miami is no stranger to the program, as they have heavily pursued Independence 4-star DE Jermaine Johnson in this cycle. After naming Miami to his top 6 back in May, Johnson recently committed to UGA.

As for Carriere-Williams, he came into 2018 as Wisconsin’s most experienced cornerback and was expected to be the Badgers’ #1 corner. As a redshirt freshman in 2017, he played in 14 games (five starts) as the third cornerback, recording 30 tackles, seven pass break-ups, and an interception. Carriere-Williams started and had 4 tackles and a QB hurry in Wisconsin’s Orange Bowl win over Miami to end last season.

However, Carriere-Williams (who is listed at 5’10” 190 pounds) had primarily been working with the second team defense in fall camp to start 2018 and made his decision to transfer after he was listed on the second string of UW’s week 1 depth chart.

Miami will keep an eye on his progress this season at Independence and evaluate Carriere-Williams for a potential offer in the class of 2019. Carriere-Williams will start out as a redshirt junior and have 2 years to play 2 at the college of his choice next fall.

More db's Stef? Please, any chance of rumblings about a QB?
Sorry, didn't read the date. Disregard.
