CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami football program announced Saturday that redshirt freshman quarterback N’Kosi Perry will not be making the trip to Arlington, Texas, for the Hurricanes’ season opener against LSU due to a violation of team rules.

“We took some disciplinary action with N’Kosi but he has since responded well and made some positive changes,” head coach Mark Richt said. “He is in good standing going forward and we look forward to seeing him dress for our home opener, and through the rest of the season.”

The Hurricanes face the Tigers Sunday night at 7:30 p.m. ET at AT&T Stadium. The game will be televised nationally on ABC.

Thanks for the info, but your about 4 hrs too late!!

Stefan, do you think this was a recent violation, or something stemming from pre Fall camp?

All that 2a amd 2b for 2nd on the depth chart makes complete sense now .... oh and come spring, He gone!

This probably happened over summer. I was a little surprised Richt called Rosier the starter so early in fall camp. Now I think Perry was already going to be suspended so there was no reason to delay the starting qb announcement.

Agreed. Just look at what Richt about making changes etc

Not the best timing for Perry.

Hopefully we can get ahead by a bunch to see what Weldon and Williams can do later in the game.

Hope this was something that happened earlier in the summer behind closed doors.

I said Thanks, but you would think a mod would look at the board, before starting another thread. JMHO, but if that makes me an *******, so be it!
Alright dude at least he isn’t 12 hours or a couple days late. He’s just providing us with information on the suspension.

Wow! Kid violated a team policy and has made the necessary adjustments to restore commitment to team and university. Now, fans are talking about transferring and losing future playing opportunities. How quickly we forget Willis history! Perry, thanks for owning up to your mistakes and having a positive attitude throughout this suspension.

I have to say the timing of this information could not have come at a better time.

I mean, what the **** else were we going to discuss on this board today? :anonymous:

I heard he sat for the second fall scrimmage. Not sure if that was related to this as of now

Williams will be starting next year and then Perry will leave. Need a QB this cycle.
