Miami opens as a multi-touchdown favorite against Louisville

Coming off a close-but-not-close win over Florida State on Saturday, Miami heads into Week 8 as an overwhelming favorite for its upcoming Friday night matchup.

According to FanDuel, Miami has opened as a 14.5-point favorite to beat Louisville next weekend in Miami Gardens. The over/under is set at 53.5 points. Kickoff between the Hurricanes and Cardinals is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 17, at 7:00 p.m. EST at Hard Rock Stadium on ESPN2.

Miami is 4-1-0 against the spread so far this season, with Bethune-Cookman being the only team they failed to cover against. The Hurricanes covered the 4.5-point spread in their win over Florida State this past weekend.

ESPN Analytics also heavily favors Miami over Louisville, giving the Hurricanes an 84.2 percent chance to win.

Louisville checks in at No. 37 in the FPI. The Cardinals are 4-1 on the season with wins over Eastern Kentucky, James Madison, Bowling Green, and Pittsburgh. Their lone loss came in overtime to Virginia this past weekend.

Can I bet on beating the spread at the end of the 3rd quarter and then making it a closer game then it should be at the end of the 4th?

Watch the game. The coaches kept the score down by running every play with 5 seconds or less on the play clock. They are friends and coached together

Just going to throw out that Louisville is 108th in sacks allowed per game and 112th in TFL allowed per game.

They do have a very aggressive and decent defense though. Based on how they played against Pitt and UVA, Miami's going to have to pass to win.

This game concerns me. Friday night. Brohm with a bye week to prepare. Team coming off a rivalry game win. Hopefully that 4th Quarter will be a blessing in disguise
