Miami Director Of Operations Jeff Dyer will stay on Miami staff with Jai Lucas
Following Jim Larranaga's exit from Miami, there were questions about the future of his staff, but it's been confirmed by CanesInSight that Director of Ops Jeff Dyer will be staying on with new head coach Jai Lucas.
Jeff Dyer is entering his fifth season as the director of basketball operations for Miami in 2022-23. He was promoted to this role in October 2021 after spending four seasons as the associate director of basketball operations for the Hurricanes from 2017 to 2021. Additionally, Dyer served as a graduate assistant at Miami from 2014 to 2016.
In his inaugural season, Dyer helped the Hurricanes to their first Elite Eight appearance and followed it up with a remarkable second year that included an ACC co-regular season title, a debut in the Final Four, a record-tying 29 wins, and a program-best No. 3 ranking in the USA TODAY Coaches Poll.
During his four years as the associate director of basketball operations, Dyer was responsible for compiling opponent film into scout edits, contributing to the development of scouting reports, overseeing film exchanges, helping with scheduling, running camps, and recruiting graduate assistants. In his first year in this position in 2018, the Hurricanes achieved a third-place finish in the ACC, ending the season with a record of 22-10 (11-7 ACC) and qualifying for the NCAA Tournament.
