Former Miami Hurricanes basketball star Isaiah Wong has signed a long-term contract with Zalgiris in the EuroLeague.
Isaiah Wong has signed a three-year contract with the Lithuanian powerhouse, as reported by Michael Scotto from HoopsHype.
Zalgiris signed Wong last February to succeed Lonnie Walker IV, who left to join the Philadelphia 76ers. This season, Wong averaged 6.4 points, 1.3 rebounds, and 1.0 assists over seven games in the EuroLeague.
During his time at Miami, Wong, recognized as one of the greatest players in Canes Hoops history, led the team to the Elite Eight and the Final Four in back-to-back seasons. He was named the ACC Player of the Year, he decided to go to the NBA Draft Combine scrimmages, which greatly enhanced his draft prospects. Renowned for his scoring ability, Wong concluded his senior year with remarkable averages of 16.2 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 1.4 steals per game.
Wong was selected by the Pacers after college, but primarily played with their G-League team, where he averaged 16.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game.
