With the release of Apple iOS 16.4 and Xenforo 2.2.13 users are now able to receive push notifications on iOS devices.

To enable push notifications you will need to install CanesInSight as a Progressive Web App (PWA) by adding it to your Home Screen using Safari. Next, you will need to click on the CanesInSight icon that will now be on your phone to login into CanesInSight. Last, you will need to click "enable notifications" at the bottom of the page.

You can manage what you receive notifications for under account preferences.

It looks like I need to fix the visibility of turning on push notifications when ads are displayed.

You need to add CIS to your Home Screen on iOS and then all notifications. if you do this then you will receive push notifications on iOS for any user you follow as well as other configurable options under preference.

I mean technically it is a progressive web app (PWA).

To answer your question. A standalone app requires a lot of and has to be constantly upgraded.
Yep, and you have to program for different devices. People don't realize how good this site is compared to others like on desktop and mobile. I was one that complained about the last site updates but you guys do a good job at keeping it neat.
