Good update guys. Thanks! Colby Young and Leonard Taylor need to have all conference seasons for us to contend and defy expectations. If the 2024 class comes together like you believe it could, watch out, we’re not looking back.

"Thomas Gore and potentially Anthony Campbell will be there to push Taylor if he doesn't perform up to 1st Rd. status.." LOL's (not D$).

If Taylor disappoints, the only hope we have is with Deen, JHH and Moten. Unless a new grad transfer name surfaces over the next few weeks, we're in trouble there regardless of Anthony Campbell's recruitment.

Taylor, Deen, and Moten (potentially) not a bad start inside. With decent depth at DE (Mesidor, Kelly, Bain, Harvey, Chantz) - a couple of those guys may have to contribute inside. Even beyond situationally. Get the best guys on the field. Not like guys from yesteryear like undersized Anthony Hamlet didn't rep or even start inside.

If a few teams are able to stop LT we ****ed basically.

I like the starting DL. It's enough to win most games if they stay healthy and are well conditioned. But we've been at this long enough to know kids get injured. It's the guys behind them that are for the most part marginal or too young.

Another guy we need something out of is Lichtenstein. Had 28 tackles, 6 TFLs and 4 sacks at USC in 2021. He's a grown *** man at this point. Can't he get a push on some 18-20 year old kids?

Dwins, you and I are 100% in sync on this. The lack of talent and depth of talent is going to lose us several games this year. Even after all the holes Mario has plugged, some with duck tape and chicken wire, we're no better off at WR and DT, are questionable at LT and more than questionable at OLB, and have no backup QB. It's incredible how fracked Manny left this team.

p.s. I LOL when I saw Penn State was going after Campbell, too. Manny gonna Manny.

This is why when I see posts that our roster has depth I'm like wtf are y'all watching? We have major holes that possibly take 3 classes to get afloat. And he's had one class. Things look better for high quality players but that doesn't solve depth issues. And it sucks cause when LT bolts for the NFL u have to ask an incoming star freshman to man the DT position. And that is highly unlikely that someone comes in and becomes a star at that position day one. Specifically that particular position takes time to become something great. U rarely get a guy that comes in and dominates there. U want to have depth there so u can hand it off to the next guy and we don't have that.

We need more depth to be a true contender, but that shouldn't stop us from winning ACC games.

Who was Duke's 6th DT last year?
Does that matter when u can't control the LOS? Names or not u will have trouble against teams like that if u can't control the LOS.

Cristobal has had one full recruiting cycle and two transfer windows to find a way to plug the holes at DT. How much longer will things be pinned on Diaz? At what point does it become Cristobals responsibility to find a couple adequate DTs?

It became Cristobal’s responsibility on Day 1. But your argument fails to mention that on Day 1 he was also responsible for plugging holes at every single position outside of punter and kicker. That’s too many deficiencies to adequately address (impact players + depth) in just 18 months. On top of that, Cristobal had to address the country club culture that permeated the program for years. That’s no easy feat and takes more than just one season to eradicate.

Ultimately, it’s on Cristobal to find quality players at every position including DT. He gets paid a lot of money to rebuild the program. But to complain today about one position seems misguided.

Just my opinion, of course. Many may disagree.

I agree, but I really wish you would stop doing the 2022 Duke comparison papi, I already broke down how horrifically easy their schedule ended up being and how we (lol) were arguably their best win.

They played four bad OOC teams (and lost one), didn't play Clemson or FSU, in fact, they played as bad an ACC schedule as technically possible, playing the entire bottom of the opposing division while avoiding the top.

I think their SOS was like 65th or so iirc, and there are only like 58 P5 programs.

They beat us by a million and won nine games.

How many times have we won 9 games in the past two decades?

OP, Why your mic look like you holding a *****?? "Pause"

Well
Garcia and Knighton did hand them the ball on a platter several times, but yea they were solid with a good QB that made them go.
