A loaded defensive backs class in the 2015 recruiting cycle will cause some talented prospects to not receive as much exposure as others. 2015 CB Antonio Howard (5-11, 165) is one of those names to watch as we enter the heart of 7-on-7 season. Howard played last year at Jackson, but recently made the move to Miami Northwestern for his senior season.

“I feel like Northwestern was my best move. The exposure is big,” said Howard.

Howard is not shy when it comes to his confidence. He feels like he should be mentioned amongst the elite in the class.

“I’m more aggressive than others and I have a lot of speed. Nobody has ever heard of me, so I feel like this is my year. Nobody can run with me.”

The feisty corner will be playing his 7-on-7 ball with the Florida Fire, who have emerged as one of the top programs in the country over the last few years.

“Competing with the top dogs like Calvin (Ridley), Jovon (Durante), and Shawn (Burgess-Becker) is great. Those battles are pretty good. I’ve never had competition like that.”

His recent showings on the 7-on-7 circuit is causing schools to take notice.

“Missouri, West Virginia, Pittsburgh, and South Florida have been sending me mail. I just got an offer from FAU too.”

One school who Howard wants to hear from is Miami.

“I did have interest in them, but they actually don’t look at me at all. I would love them because that’s my college team. I’m from Miami and they don’t even look at me, but other schools know about me not from here.”

What is it about the ‘Canes that Howard likes?

“I love their confidence and swag. When I was little, I used to always want to play for them. I would watch Ed Reed and Sean Taylor. I always played running back growing up until I saw Sean Taylor play and that made me want to play defense.”

Howard would also like to hear more from South Carolina, Syracuse, and Nebraska.

Like his tape, sure-tackler but need to see more plays on the ball.

Deandre Baker needs an offer first. No disrespect to this kid.

[Tavarus] McFadden shared the message from the Miami coaching staff.

They are trying to build a new cornerback dynasty,” McFadden said. “They want big corners to come in and hold things down..."

= Want. All. Day. Long.

DB is thick this year and the Canes are in the hunt for a lot of top recruits. This is the type of kid that sometimes the numbers leave out and then he goes somewhere and punishes us for missing him. Was that way even in the good old days.

Kid needs to go to camp and show them he can ball out and is versatile. With such a deep DB class and with our 2015 likely a slightly smaller class this kid might not get looked at. Hope it all works out for him.

He's okay. But he has a whole summer to do something to standout. He has to go to the Al golden Camp and run a good 40 time and lock down WR's

Lol at the kids comments. Miami can't eval and offer every single kid. Kid needs to prove his worth at camp. Entitlement continues, even with prospects who aren't even rated... Thought I seen it all

he looks more like a safety than a corner in his highlights. alot of those plays he would have got flags for in college. he is a hitter though and thats what i like. he good but not elite which is what we are looking for this class.

Simply tell the kid and others, we are going to take real good look at you over the summer and invite you to our camp. We want to offer the best talent and Son if you prove to us you are better than those we've already evaluated and offered then you'll have an offer to. You give us a chance and we'll give you a chance.

I was gonna say this, he can blow up but he has to grind out in the camps hard because I really like the tape as a guy who with some exposure can explode on the scene
