2014 CB Trumaine Washington (Killian) is a name that has recently popped up on the radar of Miami fans due to his performance a couple weeks ago at the Al Golden Football Camp.

“I did pretty good at the camp. Coach Williams told me I’ve improved a lot since last year,” Washington said. “I talk to Paul Williams, I’ve known him since last year. My coach and him talk about me.”

Miami is a school that Washington has always had on his mind.

“I’ve loved it since I was little. I like how it is, with the swag and how it’s like a family, and they send people to the NFL,” he added.

Playing at Columbus the past two years, he developed a good relationship with current Hurricane Deon Bush, who is somebody Washington looks up to in the process.

“I’ve been working with him. He’s been helping me get better in my 1-on-1s. It helps a lot that he’s doing it,” he said.

At 5’9, 170, some have questioned whether or not Washington is big enough to succeed at the next level, but he says those doubts should be put to rest.
“For the people that think I’m too small, they’re gonna have a hard time because I’m strong, quick, and I know what I’m doing. I’m comfortable playing one-on-one and can cover the slot for sure.”

Now at Killian, he hopes to lead the Cougars to new heights.

“I want to make it past the first round of the playoffs at least. Killian came from 1-9 to 6-4 so we’re gonna have a good team again,” said Washington.
