Rookies who have outplayed their 2014 draft position

Brandon Linder, who's the starting center for the jaguars(wish he woulda played center over McDermot), is getting rave reviews. Jeff Lageman who does play by play for the jags thinks Brandon is already the best offensive lineman on the team, and he's outplaying former top 5 pick Luke Joeckel.

Miami players are a bargain now in every draft. Thanks to poor coaching and a strength coach that went to culinary school, you can grab our guys later in the draft and then fully develop their talent.

It's a steal.

Our old guys benefited from a premium on Canes, now our guys go for discount.

These kids get to the NFL and for the first time have actual coaching. For the first time they don't have to put good grades over studying film and lifting. For the first time they receive actual nutrition guidance and qualified science-based strength and conditioning. Year after year, players perform better in the NFL.

Swasey is so bad that former players that are in the NFL come to work out with him in the offseason just saying

But we don't have talented players.

So you don't think its a tremendous boost to a kids performance when he suddenly can focus only on football and not making Donna look good in the classroom?

You dont think it's a tremendous boost when our players finish school in december, get an agent, and for the first time actual receive professional training?

You don't think it's a tremendous boost when a player is put in a system THAT ACTUALLY FUNCTIONS PROPERLY????

BTW, this is exactly how Al is hurting these players. As a result of him not developing the players and putting a mediocre product on the field, these kids are underrated by NFL and they are either getting drafted in lower rounds or going undrafted than they would have if they had been developed and/or we put a better product on the field, and that costs these kids opportunities in the NFL and contract money. If Al really cared about the kids, he would step down and let a real coach develop these kids and allow them to reach their maximum potential. The only one who is being overpaid at this point is Al.

Didn't Hurns have a 1,000 yards last year? Not exactly a good example to use of a player not living up to his potential or being misused.

/no I'm not defending Golden.

Dont put these 2 gems on Golden lets be honest. Lets not act like Allen Hurns didnt set a single season record for receiving yards. Henderson was just a lazy dude and didnt wanna put in the work. He knows this is his last chance but his talent was always there.

Do you think Hurns would have gone undrafted if we had a better team last season?

Yeah hard to bash Golden to much for the two names on the list as far as player development. Hurns had one of the best years a WR has ever had here and Henderson dropped due to off field stuff. It does show that once again a Golden team underperformed on the field despite having more talent than the teams we play.

The problem with some of our players is how they're made to look in our current system. Allen Hurns, however, was a victim of bad perception of the program's current state. He had good film, did surprisingly well (relative to expectations) in the combine and had great production. NFL Scouts just ****ed that up. Most here thought he'd be between a 4th and 6th rounder, which would have been about right given his draft class.

well our coaching staff did an amazing job of mentoring Henderson and motivating him for game days.
