Golden said that we are at 77 right now. Does that mean we used up 8 of the 9 scholarship losses or do we have to hold back one each over the next two years, since its 9 ships over 3 years?

How does the limit work?

We used the max that can be used this year which is 7, since you have to have at least 1 for each of the three years.

That extra ship, likely Hester, while it doesn't count against the NCAA reduction, is nonetheless helpful cause it's an extra ship we can use in the next recruiting cycle. It's very likely we can take a full class next year of 25 kids.

Going from 77, 11 scholarship seniors will be lost to graduation and I suspect 4 juniors or redshirt juniors. That's 62. This would leave room for 22 to get up to 84 since 1 ship has to be taken next year. The other 3 will come from annual attrition, likely candidates being King, Hamilton, O'Donnell and D'Mauri Jones. Knighton also may retire and be converted to a medical hardship scholarship rather than football. You have to assume Vogel will be given an actual scholarship from walk on status but we can still easily make the numbers work.
