Golden is going to have to hire some coaches if he hopes to survive (may not anyway). Play calling absolutely horrendous. Where was Lewis & Waters? Where was Walford in the 2nd half? OL is the worst. What an embarrassing performance. Kehoe should retire.

This loss is entirely on the offense, and I look at the playcalling and the offensive line in particular. Which sucks, because our weak spot last year, the defense, played well.

I'm not a kehoe fan, but when you are using 5 guys to block 8 or 9 on every play, there is a pretty good chance someone is going to get to the QB or stuff a running back. The O-Line was not nearly as bad as the play-calling.

OP is forgetting Golden...he must go, along with his boys.

Coley can stay, but not as a play caller. He is a recruiting specialist, and thats it. Our new head coach must call plays.

Yes, I kept turning to my brother and asking him, does it look like they are in a 8-9 man front? Then why are we running a zone run from a spread formation over and over again. Am I just losing my mind but I really dont understand what I'm watching here. The few times they did bring in a TE offset, we ran a stretch run that too waaaaay to long to develop and still were outnumbered on the line. Horrible playcalling. Every was given a complete blueprint for our to dismantle our offense. Thanks Coley and Co.

Golden and the whole staff except Hurley and ice must go. It starts with the man at the top. When there's always a problem on the team then the problem is the head coach.

I would offer that option to him. Asst HC/QB coach/Recruiting coordinator or GTFO. It's that simple. I'd much rather Ice call the plays. Kehoe has always been trash. He needs to step down effective immediately.

Kehoe would be the first firing in a staff shake-up and I can't even say I'd lose any sleep over it. I was beyond pumped when I heard he was coming back but his units, always viewed as potential strengths going into seasons, have done nothing but consistently disappoint regardless of the OC.

Gadbois. Nuff said.

Unless he was attempting to compile a highlight tape to become a Spanish bull fighter, he was a complete failure. Can't imagine a worse option

I support the premise of the OP (and please stop with the OL excuses -- regardless of the awful play calling they flat out stunk) but Golden will not do anything about it. They need to clean house with this entire staff, starting at the top.

I know everyone loves Coley's recruiting ability but seriously -- what good does it do us if the end result is the **** show we saw last night (and most of last season when we faced any defense with a pulse)?

Gadbois played terribly, but Isadora played worse. He was downright terrible and was dominated physically and mentally in that game.

Kehoe will be absolutely gone IMO. Coley is the big question mark. He's our best recruiter, I think AG is going to be too scared to let him go unless we are a catastrophe this year. Recruiting may be the only thing that saves Coley, but Kehoe brings NOTHING to the table. He's got to go ASAP.

Any chance we could just let Coley continue to recruit and bring in Jimbo to do the offensive playcalling? Head Coach Butch "Ice" Campbell probably could make that happen.

As Jimmy Johnson once said the success of any head coach is directly related to both players and your assistants. I wonder if the assistant coaching will ever be up to par with any other head coach, if the administration is unwilling to ante up the funds to pay for quality assistants. I believe this is a major issue, Maybe Al flirted with PSU because he knew the money would be there.

Look at our Assistants:
Coley: No record of any accomplishments, yet he is our OC
Kehoe: Who in the Administration does he have evidence on
Carroll: I guess someone assumes DNA automatically qualifies you

I could go on with more, but I believe Al will get a 5th year. What future success we have will depend on what coaches stay and who goes. If he wants to reach a high
level as a head coach, and I think the potential is there, then he will have to show real CEO skills. The hardest thing to do it fire someone, but if you want to get payed the big money then the time will soon be here to prove if you have the guts and fortitude to prove you deserve that position.

Honest question -- has Al ever fired anybody? I don't think he has it in him.
